About excognito excognito was founded in 2001 by PR consultant Marc Däumler, a graduate of the German Institute for Public Relations (DIPR) as well as the German Academy for Public Relations (DAPR). Initially, the agency mainly served customers in the medical and health care sectors. These areas remain fixed constants in their spectrum of services, but today excognito now also provides company, product, and brand PR to national and international customers working in everything from energy to education. Digital communications and social media are central to the agency‘s work as well. In 2012, excognito developed PR-Sanitäter, Germany‘s first crisis PR app especially for medical professionals. The agency also trains clients and interested parties in social media use, and develops communications strategies in which social media and traditional communications channels are closely intertwined. Moreover, excognito‘s day-to-day experiences formed the basis of Marc Däumler‘s 2013 book, Social Media für Praxis und Klinik (Social Media for Private Clinics and Hospitals, Medizin Wissenschaftliche Verlagsgesellschaft mbH & Co.
