I invite you to attend the 7th Annual California State Side by Side Championship and Exhibition. The
Sun Mountain Gun Club will once again be our host for 2015. This State Championship is rich in tradition.
The gun exhibition as well as 7 different shooting events will make this shoot a memorable and enjoyable
experience for all participants.
Last year’s competition was the largest in the Society’s history and we hope this year’s will be even
bigger yet. We hope you can attend and look forward to seeing you. I am especially looking forward to
participating in this fine tournament.

TROPHIES
Each event (total of 7) will have 5 trophies and will be decided by Lewis Classification. Ties decided by long
run from the front. If shooters are still tied, there will be a shoot off Sunday morning at 9am.
This year’s trophy sponsors are the CASXSS, Pacific Sporting Arms, Perazzi USA, White Flyer and our
our very own Bob Brosi DDS.
SPECIAL TROPHIES
HIGH OVER ALL - These trophies will be awarded the 2 shooters with the highest
scores on all events (except the Rifle events). Champion and R/U Champion 1 thru 7
HIGH ALL AROUND - These trophies will be awarded to the 2 shooters with the highest scores
on these 5 events 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 (except the Rifle events). Champion and R/U Champion.
BEST OF SHOW - Judged by Larry Shelton and Jim Thynne. Winner gets $300.00, 2nd place $200.00.
PEOPLES CHOICE - Vote for your favorite in the Club House. Winner gets $100.00 Cash.
ATTENDANCE PINS - One of a kind lapel pin to commemorate this event.

All trophies for the entire shoot must be picked up Sunday. Trophies will not be mailed.
If you cannot pick up your trophy, have a friend pick it up.
If not picked up, you forfeit your trophy.
PRACTICE
All practice tickets will be available in the Sun Mountain Club House.
SPECIAL POT SHOOT
100 Yard Teal - 5 Targets
$6.00
Use your practice ticket for this event. $3.00 will be returned to the pot and will be split equally
among shooters. Ties divide. Shoot as many times as you like.
There will be 2 pots for this event. One on Friday and the other on Saturday.
GENERAL INFORMATION
1. The office will open Friday April 10th @ 9:00 am for sign up’s and practice.
2. Please note the office will close at 4:00 pm daily.
3. Scores will be posted daily in club house.
4. Trophy winners and shoot offs will be posted Saturday night.
5. Sunday shoot offs will start at 9:00 am.
6. Ammo will be available at the gun club at normal gun club prices.
7. Non Members are welcome to shoot but are not eligible for trophies.
8. Please remember to pick up your target counter before departing to the sporting clays course.
9. CASXS apparel and accessories are available in the pro shop, Fri. Sat. 12 noon till 4:00 pm.
10. Dinner tickets for Friday and Saturday nights are available at SMGC counter for $17.00. Must be
purchased the day before.
11. Special raffles will be held nightly at the dinners.
12. Sun Mountain Gun Club will be open Thursday for those setting up tables.
13. Practice shooting will also be available Thursday at 12 noon.

Shooters are allowed 3 malfunctions per event (either gun or ammunition).
that can be shot over. All subsequent malfunctions will be scored loss.
If gun is malfunctioning you may use another gun.
Malfunctions are: failure to fire, for any reason after the target has been called for,
except for trap or puller malfunctions.
If a broken bird is shot at, it will not be scored and must be shot over.
If any whole target is shot at, it will be counted.
If one bird of a true pair is broken and the shooter shoots at the unbroken bird,
that bird will be established & the pair will be shot over.
If there is “NO BIRD” in a pair and the shooter shoots at the single bird, that bird
will be established and the pair shot over.
Should the shooter break both targets with the 1st or 2nd shot it
will be scored as 2 dead birds.
No choke changing or changing guns during an event, unless gun breaks.
Targets must be launched immediately or with a delay of up to 3 seconds.
A visible piece of the clay pigeon must be seen to score a hit.
Guns shall be open except when shooting or in a gun rack.
All ties will be shot off Sunday morning as sudden death from shooting areas
decided upon by the shoot committee.
Observe all rules of the host club.
Write your shooter # and last name and gauge of gun on score sheet.
Any SxS gun can be used, a max. 11/8 oz of shot and shot size no larger than 71/2 .
A participant cannot win more than one shooting trophy, for each event.
All official targets must be scored on SxS score sheets or they will not be counted.
You must be a current member of California SxS Society to win prizes.
Sporting clays events must have at least three people on a squad.
Disputes will be settled by three shoot officials.
In small gauge event, no gauge reduction accessories or small bore tubes allowed.
Handicaps for 50 target events are...
20 gauge-0 targets added to score
28 gauge-4 targets added to score
.410 -6 targets added to score.
Only the first person on each squad is allowed to see one view pair.
Shoot management can change or modify the program in part or whole as needed.

Tickets for the gun drawing can be purchased by sending Robert Szerwo a check for any number of tickets.
He will then return your ticket stubs via mail.
Also, tickets can be purchased at any of the CASXSS fun shoots throughout February and March. Tickets
will also be available at the State Shoot in April.
The drawing will be held at the state shoot on Saturday night after dinner and the Hall of Fame Inductions.
