Guelph Non-Profit Housing Corporation requires a Building Superintendent Couple/Team of Two for the
142,146,150 Imperial Road, Guelph location. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor
and is responsible for providing janitorial maintenance services within the building to acceptable
standards. Duties include, but are not limited to: maintaining the general cleanliness of all public building
areas, waste handling, preparation of vacant units for incoming tenants, general building maintenance,
reporting of information/general requirements, after-hours on call service and other duties as required.
Duties may also include travel to other buildings to complete maintenance work. The Building
Superintendent Couple/Team of Two is required to live on-site in an apartment, provided as a condition of
employment under provisions of Section 93 of the Residential Tenancies Act. The Couple/Team of Two
would be one full time position (35 hours per week) and one part time position (20 hours per week).
The minimum qualifications for this position include:
 Secondary school diploma.
 Over two years, experience in electrical, plumbing, and general repair work and janitorial practices.
 Knowledge of building maintenance, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS),
Residential Tenancies Act, Health and Safety regulations, Municipal By-laws, and Industry best
practices.
 Ability to work with a diverse client group with technical expertise.
 Application of knowledge for problem solving required.
 Basic knowledge of computers and software applications.
 Excellent communication and organizational skills.
 Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
This position offers a comprehensive benefit package and a salary range of: $42,206-$46,588 for
the full time position and $15.00 per hour for the part time position (2015 Compensation Grid).
