Each day gives us many opportunities of expressing our love for You; all my senses, all my talents come from You; by Your power and presence help us to use them well today, doing everything for Your honor. Forgive us for times in the past when we have disappointed You and have sinned against You and others. Preserve us from all that is evil, so that all we think and do and say may be pleasing to You. (Amazon offers a Kindle edition for $9.99.) John Calvin: His Life and Legacy Our denomination’s roots are in the Swiss Reformation. Although he did not reform the church in Geneva and wasn’t even Swiss, but French, John Calvin quickly became the leader of the movement and his influence is still felt in Presbyterian and Reformed Churches around the globe as well as in secular areas such as education and social concerns. Calvin’s view of God’s sovereignty, the role of sin in human life, and the purpose of those called by the Almighty to serve for the glory of God are still major thoughts within our theology today. On Wednesday, January 7, our pastor started a five week study on Calvin’s legacy. Won’t you join us as we look at this influential theologian and how his influence is still being felt in our world? The mission donation for this Sunday is a departure from the norm. We ask that you support Faith In Practice as they embark on a medical mission to Guatemala. Any amount is helpful.
