Trisha Lents, Dietary, personally delivered and gave every resident in Health Center, Assisted Living, and in the Villa’s a hand made quilt for Christmas. In order to execute such a large gift program for our residents at St. Charles Trisha used resources serving within the P.L.U.S. program at Wabach Facility. P.L.U.S. is a faith and character based initiative. This program is aimed at teaching the foundational values of honesty, respect, tolerance, responsibility, and compassion which prepare participants for the challenges and opportunities of everyday living. Living Arts The P.L.U.S. program is very community focused, which instills responsibility within its participants through involvement in projects which benefit those outside the facility. The P.L.U.S. program has implemented a quilting program in which the participants are taught to sew quilts of various sizes to be distributed to local community organizations. Over the course of the past 5 years the program has donated over 9,000 quilts. They have also donated thousands of Christmas stockings to various children’s organizations and veterans homes.
