BIOGRAPHY
Mohd Fadzli Bin Abdollah, received his B.Eng. (Hons.) and M.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2004 and 2005, respectively. His professional life at the
Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) began in 2005 as a lecturer in the Department of
Automotive, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Later in 2011, he completed his Dr.Eng. specifically in
Tribology from Nagoya University, Japan. Upon completion of his study, he has been promoted to
senior lecturer since 2012.
His research interests include wear of materials, surface engineering & coatings, lubricants, and
automotive tribology. Currently, he is supervising 2 Ph.D and 5 Master students. He has 4 ongoing
projects, where he is the principle researcher, at both national and international levels. His
publications include more than 20 journals and proceedings in both ISI and Scopus indexed articles.
He has authored 1 handbook in Malay translation version. He has won more than 10 academic and
research awards. Two (2) intellectual properties have been filed.
Recently, he held the position of Manager of Centre of Excellence (CoE) at the Centre for Advanced
Research on Energy (CARe), UTeM. In addition, he has also been appointed as the Vice Secretary of
Malaysian Tribology Society (MYTRIBOS)(Membership ID=L0213) since 2013. In conjecture, he is
one of the key pioneers in developing the Green Tribology and Engine Performance (G-TriboE)
Research Group, UTeM. Besides, he is an active member in Society of Tribologist and Lubrication
Engineers (STLE)(Membership ID=60913), Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) (Membership
ID=34309) and Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM)(Membership ID=GE49335A). His other past
administrative duty included Head of Department (Diploma Studies) at Faculty of Mechanical
Engineering, UTeM.
