Monta Vista Athletic Booster Membership Fact Sheet for Coaches    MV Athletic Boosters (MVAB) purpose is to raise funds to financially support athletics at MVHS. MVAB takes the burden of fundraising for all MVHS sports; we ask families to donate $65.00 to MVAB per student-athlete for each sport in which they participate each year. o $40 out of the $65 is directly returned to your team o $25 goes towards the MVAB general fund and used for various projects or purchases, per YOUR requests (see below) Please strongly encourage online registration to your student-athletes. ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN Fund Requests from Sports:    An individual coach, combined coaches or AD’s can request funds from the MVAB general fund Funds are available to contribute to your team. We look for effort (fund raising) from the teams to help pay for the item requested Approach the AD first with your request for funds, then work with your liaison to prepare your request and present to the MVAB Board at a Board of Directors’ Meeting MVAB has made the following contributions towards teams’ purchases:               $4500 for Boys & Girls Soccer for Balls, Bags & New Girl’s Uniforms $3141 for Wrestling Warm-Ups, Bags & Headgear. $4020 for Matador Logo Folding Chairs for Gymnasium $2400.00 for Floor Mats for Spirit Team $10,000 for Track & Field Equipment $3500 to support the athletic trainers salary $6000 to turf the softball & baseball cage floors $1250 Portable Football Goal Posts for JV Field Annual Booster Scholarships – 2012/13 = $2100.00 New wrestling & Football Uniforms Supply the new snack shack with refrigerators, freezers, ice machine etc. Travel “Stick Bags” for Field Hockey Scorer’s Table for the Gym Pop Up Canopies for Track, Cross Country & Aquatics             Scoreboards for the main gym Contributed $5000 toward the new swimming pool Contributed $2000 toward the new gym speaker system A spot light for wrestling matches The windscreens around campus with MV logo on them League Championship Banners that hang in the gym & field house 5 new aluminum bleachers for field house, pool deck & lower fields The Boosters also contributed towards the measure B campaign to improve the athletic fields at MV Trainer’s electric golf cart Softball Pitching Machines Specialty Coaches for Basketball & Volleyball $3500 to the Ron Freeman Scholarship Fund Honorariums: Coaches Honorariums are available. We are allowed to donate up to $1000 per sport for honorariums. These honorariums can be used to pay a season long volunteer coach or a specialty coach (jump, hitting act). The honorarium comes out of your MVAB membership distribution. Contact Cam for more info. Spirit Wear: MVAB also sells MV spirit wear at football games & on campus in the Mat Shack (upstairs in the main gym) on Friday’s at lunch. Now accepting credit cards! MVAB Golf Tournament: Our Annual MVAB golf tournament is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, May 31, 2015. Last year MVAB raised ~$88K for MVHS sports.
