All PAC Executive positions are open, and we will be holding nominations during the meeting. [title] Aubrey Art Crawl Update We couldn’t be more thrilled with the effort and dedication the students of Aubrey have shown in raising pledges to support this great cause. The students of Aubrey raised over $7,000 to support art related projects for the school. Our three top fundraisers were Amy, Sofia, and Alina. Amy raised a whopping $397 and earned the top prize. Thank you all for your amazing efforts! Mme. West’s and Mrs. Heard’s classes won the pizza parties. The PAC would also like to thank all the volunteers. We would like to extend a special thank you to Tammy Gnoato for donating the computer Tablet, Paul Bussanich and Playland for donating four Playland passes, and Vancity for donating a movie gift basket. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. THE PAC WANTS YOU June 2014 Wrap -Up Cobs Hot Cross Buns Sale Despite terrible weather, the Cobs hot cross buns sale managed to raise $145. Thank you to Teresa and volunteers for organizing this event. The PAC would also like to recognize the Kensington Plaza Cobs and all that they do for Aubrey and our community. Summer Reading Book Sale Stock up on your books for summer on June 4, 5, and 6 during lunch hour and from 2:453:30pm. All Books are $1 There are books for all ages and books of all genres, so don’t forget to bring your loonies! Clothing Drive The PAC will be holding its last clothing drive of the school year on Friday, June 13. Please drop off bags in the undercover area in front of the school between 8:30 and 9:15am. We are so close to reaching our goal of 300 bags! Time to clear out all your old winter clothes and help us achieve our goal! The more bags we collect, the more money we earn! Volunteer Appreciation Tea On behalf of all the volunteers, the PAC would like to thank Mme. Ubial and all the Staff who helped to put on a lovely tea for us. We all feel very lucky to be part of such a wonderful school community. Bicycle Helmet Safety Last month, Detective Constable Alan Mah from the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) spoke to all of Aubrey’s students about bicycle helmet safety. Mark Your Calendar June 4- Staff Appreciation Lunch Detective Constable Mah is a 14 year member of the VPD and has served in patrol, the Marine Unit, and the Crisis Negotiation Unit. From these assignments he has patrolled on bicycle for 3 years. June 4, 5, 6 – Book Sale Thank you Detective Constable Mah for giving such an engaging and important talk to our children! The PAC has been able to provide the students of Aubrey with many enriching opportunities, and we couldn’t have done it without all the help and support of our parent community.
