Footnotes
SARATOGA DREAMER reluctant to load, needed the old blindfold trick before getting successfully put into his stall, left the barrier without apparent mishap,
took up position in midpack, positioned at a slight distance from off the rail tracking the front runners, was let out a notch angling outward near the
five-sixteenths marker, finished the maneuver by spinning three wide into the stretch, got set down and picked up the pace, began the final furlong latched
on to the runner up, vied with vigor the rest of the way, gained the advantage for good in the seventy yards and inched away, kept to the task at hand.
REGAL MINISTER broke alertly and remained forwardly placed, argued for command inside BREAKIN THE FEVER, lightly hand urged while at the task,
shook free briefly as the half was being completed, only to get pounced upon by the top one, fought fiercely the rest of the trip down the stretch, surrendered
well inside the sixteenth pole and had to settle for being second best. DRAMA KING raced near the inside, had a prolonged drive interrupted after getting to
within striking distance off the duelers during the final stages of the run around, was re-roused after entering the stretch, altered sharply to the outside in
close proximity of another's heels in the vicinity of the three-sixteenths pole, rallied well to secure the show, although never posing a danger to the top
twosome. BREAKIN THE FEVER reared up, flipping the pilot off on the initial loading attempt, proceeded to duck outward springing forth from the gate, was
pulling with force on the bit moving up to engage the runner up, contended for the lead afterwards with that opponent, still rating unkindly for the opening
half, fell back once called upon. AGENT VAN ALDEN chased two to three wide on the turn, fanned into the five path coming to the three-sixteenths marker,
had no offering. DEFICIT HAWK raced from off the inside, lost position to the eventual winner approaching the five-sixteenths pole, left that station from the
four path, was already under a drive entering the lane, had no rally. CHASING BUBBLES stumbled badly at the start, trailed throughout while far behind the
others, was never fully extended at any point.
