INTERN
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE INTERNSHIP
The ECPAT International (EI) internship programme is designed to provide an opportunity to
eligible candidates to contribute to and learn about child protection issues, particularly
children’s rights to live free of commercial sexual exploitation. Interns are eligible to participate
in the ECPAT International Secretariat activities. Interns are expected to carry out the duties
assigned to them under the responsibility of the designated supervisor.
PRIMARY TASKS
 Research policies and funding priorities of targeted donors (development agencies and
ministries of foreign affairs, international foundation), and identify key areas of overlap
with EI’ strategy;
 Support ECPAT staff in transforming existing or foreseeable projects or programmes into
proposals for submission to donors;
 Support the implementation of reporting duties in relation to contracts secured;
 Ensure the management of the individual donors stewardship function;
• Assist ECPAT International with proofreading and translation of documents;
• Other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and experience
 Education and/or degree in Business Management & Development, with a good
understanding of finances;
 Knowledge of fundraising and budget management tools;
 Experience in corporate, individual or other additional forms of fundraising is an asset;
 Cultural and political awareness;
 Some understanding of strategy development and implementation;
 Knowledge of Children Rights and Human Rights an asset;
 Strong research and writing skills;
 Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into concise formats.

Fluency in both written and spoken English is a necessity

INTERNSHIP CONDITIONS
A modest stipend of 10,000 Bath/month (around $300 USD) will be made available to the intern
who is not sponsored by other organizations or institutions. All other costs related to the
internship, i.e., travel, passport, visa or living costs in Bangkok or at home, are to be borne by
the intern or his/her sponsoring institution or organization.
