Greetings from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India.
It is our great privilege that, we are given an opportunity to welcome
you all to the temple city of Bhubaneswar and it gives me immense
pleasure to officially invite you to participate in the 21st Annual
Conference of the Vascular Society of India that will take place on 15th - 18th Oct,
2014 at Bhubaneswar.
This conference will bring together many pioneers in the field of vascular surgery
from all around the globe. This time the manifesto of our conference is “Evidence
based Vascular Surgery and Innovations in Endovascular Surgery”.

Bhubaneswar - The City of Temples
Jagannath Temple, Puri
Jagannath Temple is one of the most
renowned as well as the biggest temples
of Orissa.
Established in the 12th century, the
temple is dedicated to Lord Jagannath
(Lord Krishna), Lord of the Universe. The
credit for laying the foundation of the
Jagannath temple of Puri goes to Raja
Ananta Varman Chodaganga Dev. The
temple is located at a distance of 60 km
from Bhubaneswar, on the coast of Bay of Bengal, and is greatly revered by
the devotees following the Vaishnava traditions.
Konark
The magnificent Sun Temple at Konark
is the culmination of Odisha temple architecture, and one of the most stunning
monuments of religious architecture in
the world. Built by the King Narasimhadeva in the thirteenth century, the
entire temple was designed in the shape
of a colossal chariot with seven horses
and twentyfour wheels, carrying the sun
god, Surya, across the heavens. Surya
has been a popular deity in India since the Vedic period .
Lingaraj Temple
Dhauli
A Hindu temple dedicated to
Harihara, a form of Shiva and is
one of the oldest temples of Bhubaneswar. The vast Bindu Sagar
lake is the center around which are
located the multitude of temples
of Bhubaneshwar. The Lingaraja
temple is located in a spacious
courtyard covering over 250000 sq
feet and is bounded by fortified walls. Its tower rises up to 180 feet
and is elaborately carved.
Dhauli hills are located on the
banks of the river Daya, 8 km south
of Bhubaneswar in Odisha. It is a
hill with vast open space adjoining
it, and has major Edicts of Ashoka
engraved on a mass of rock. It is a

side of the road leading to the summit of the hill. Dhauli hill is presumed to be the area where the Kalinga War was fought.
Nandankanan Zoological Park
Rajarani Temple
Nandankanan Zoological Park is
a 400-hectare zoo and botanical
garden in Bhubaneswar. The zoo
is home to about 1660 individual
animals representing 120 species,
including 42 species of mammals,
54 species of birds, and 24 species of reptiles. Nandankanan is
famous for its white tiger.
Rajarani Temple is an 11th-century Hindu temple . The temple is
originally believed to be known
as Indreswara and locally known
as “love temple” on account of
the erotic carvings of women
and couples in the temple. The
temple was constructed of dull
red and turbid yellow sandstone locally called “Rajarani”.
The fine blend of contemporary architecture and Kalinga Art makes
