Westlaw International Guide

Library Services
Westlaw International
Westlaw International is a collection of databases providing access to primary and secondary legal
materials from the US, Canada, European Union, United Kingdom, Hong Kong and other
international jurisdictions. It includes full text to case law, legislation, law journals, reviews, treaties,
reference materials and international newspapers. EU cases and legislation is best found under
the EU tab in Westlaw UK not in Westlaw International.
The library does not have access to all content in Westlaw International. If you select a database
which is not part of our subscription the following message will appear after you submit your
search: ‘database is not authorized under your subscription agreement’

Choosing the most relevant tab for your search
The other tabs (Law School, World Journals, WLI Academic, Westlaw Australia, Law Source and
International Law) contain pre-selected databases covering a particular jurisdiction or type of
resources and can be an easier way to start searching Westlaw International.
Law School gathers resources on US Law, World Journals contains a selection of journals from
different jurisdictions, Westlaw Australia covers Australian legal materials, LawSource covers
Canadian legal materials and International Law is a selection of a range of resources from different
jurisdictions.
Apart from the International Directory page (which does not contain a list of pre-selected
databases), all tabs can be searched in a similar way.
