WFT System
Overview
Michigan Scientific Wheel Force Transducers (WFT) measure all
loads imparted on the vehicle by the road. The WFT outputs three
force, three moment, two acceleration, wheel speed, and wheel
position signals to provide complete spindle load data. Each WFT
utilizes a single piece strain gage based transducer with six independent measurements. Every WFT system is completely
weatherproof and the combination of a high strength transducer
and weatherproofing results in a very reliable system. They are
intended for both on-road and off-road measurements in all
conditions. All models can also be used to monitor and control
laboratory tests.

Wheel Force
Transducer
Measures: Longitudinal (Fx), lateral (Fy), and
vertical (Fz) forces, as well as camber (Mx),
torque (My), and steer (Mz) moments.

CT2 Transducer
Interface Box
Performs real-time coordinate transformation
and cross-talk compensation. Simultaneously
provides analog, CAN, & Ethernet signal outputs, and has an embedded web-page for easy
WFT system set-up. The CT2 has easy to use
and quick Zero and Shunt features.

Integrated Slip Ring

Amplifier Package

Continuous internal X & Z accelerometers and
amplifiers. Digitizes all WFT signals before
passing through the slip ring. This digitization
reduces noise and allows for a small flexible
signal cable for easy cable routing.

An inductively powered transmitter that digitizes
Wireless Transmitter and transmits signals via RF to a remote receiver. This option provides a more compact

Custom Hub and
Wheel Adapters
A modified production wheel, matched with a
custom hub adapter, preserves the production
mounting bolt pattern and wheel offset.
