Go2Workplacement - Information Sheet
The go2workplacement website is a new online resource for NSW students enrolled in HSC VET courses which
require them to undertake structured work placement.

The WPR Certificate had been developed in response to
• Declining employer participation in work placement in recent years
• Variable work readiness activities provided prior to work placement
• Concerns that some students are attending work placement unprepared or unwilling to participate
The Certificate is an online resource developed by Janison. The project team comprises representatives from
NSW WPSP network (Youth Connections, Western Student Connections and Connect) Vocational Education in
Schools and Janison. Representatives from the school sectors and TAFE were consulted in the early stages of
the project.
Features
The WPR will give host employers greater confidence that students have undertaken adequate preparation
prior to commencing their work placement.
• Online delivery –accessible on mobile browsers as well as Desktop, Laptop or iPad.
• Delivered as a series of online modules
• Consistent Content across the state
• Student focused learning
• Reinforces knowledge of personal attributes and Course Competencies for all framework courses
• Will be integrated in 2013 as a prerequisite to work placement
• Managed by WPSP network
Implementation
The WPR Certificate was tested in Term 4 and will be implemented across the state during 2013.
Learning Modules
The Work Placement Ready Certificate comprises the following 4 modules:
• The mandatory Workplace Health and Safety Module
• Personal Attributes - Students are guided through 13 online scenarios which cover each of the personal
attributes
o Loyalty
o A sense of humour
o Commitment
o A balanced attitude to work and home life
o Honesty and integrity
o An ability to deal with pressure
o Enthusiasm
o Motivation
o Personal Presentation
o Adaptability
o Common sense
o Reliability
o Positive self esteem
Students will select four (4) PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES which will be printed on their Work Placement Ready
Certificate and hence, be seen by the employer, and which will allow the student and the employer the
opportunity to explore, discuss and demonstrate during their work placement
Employment Related Skills
Students will also be guided through a series of scenarios which explain the significance of nationally
recognised EMPLOYMENT RELATED SKILLS

• Cross-cultural understanding
Students will select three (3) skills which will be printed on their Work Placement Ready Certificate and hence,
be seen by the employer, and which will allow the student and the employer the opportunity to explore,
discuss and demonstrate during their work placement
Course Specific Competencies
Students will select the course they are enrolled in (from the list of 14 Course frameworks)
They will then participate in a series of scenarios specific to their course and review the course core
competencies
• complete two (2) video exercises and
• nominate two (2) course competencies to be further explored during the work placement
The two Course Competencies will be printed on the students WPR Certificate.
Once all modules have been completed the student will receive their WPR Certificate. The WPSP and the
course teacher will also receive notification that the student has achieved the certificate and can now
commence a work placement.
