Sermon Crumbs Ephesians 2:1-10 is two sentences in Greek. We’ll look at
the first sentence (verses 1-7) this morning, and the second (verses 8-10) on
November 16.
Communion Sunday As with every communion Sunday, our elders are
glad to pray with you after the service, particularly for God’s healing touch.
Also, we receive a second offering at the door, which goes to relieve
material needs in our church family and community.
Operation Christmas Child CCC is participating in the
Operation Christmas Child project sponsored by Samaritan’s
Purse. Brochures are available on the table in the narthex
with directions for packing a shoebox for a needy child. The
collection dates are November 17 – 24.
Is That the NIV? The New International Version, which CCC has used as
its standard translation for years, underwent a revision in 2011.
Occasionally you may hear someone read what sounds almost-but-notexactly what you’re looking at in your 1984 NIV. The differences are minor
enough you should have no trouble following either edition.
Passion Play Please be praying as we prepare for the upcoming
season. Auditions are coming up November 14 & 15. Sign up for a time

take and post or hand out. For those who would like to be part of the
behind the scenes team with costumes and make up, etc. WE NEED YOU!

Cory's Project for the past three years has brought faith, happiness and
support to children, battling cancer at Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee and
their families during the Christmas season. If you’d like to donate, drop off
your gift donations, gift cards, gift baskets or baked goods, on Saturday,
December 6 from 9am to noon at the Inn at Market Square-downtown
Zion. Come wrap your gifts there, enjoy some baked goods and share
together in the joy of the season! Saturday, December 13, we deliver the
gifts of joy to the HOT unit. You will help bring cheer to children fighting
cancer--to lift their spirits during the Christmas season. If you have any
questions, please, feel free to contact Michele Batz at [email protected] or
call 847-975-0847. God bless you all for all your support.

Love INC Food Distribution: Tuesday, November 25. We’re looking for
volunteers to help distribute a Thanksgiving Day meal (complete with
turkeys) to families in our community. The CCC lobby will be the
distribution point and we’re looking for people who will share the love of
Christ by handing out boxes of food to local families. We also need people
to help set up appointments with families who have been identified by
Love INC to receive the food items. There’s a sign up sheet in the lobby.
Contact Pastor Mike for more details.
Be an Elf this Christmas Thursday Dec. 11 at 6:30pm. The Elf Network
is an organization in Zion which coordinates the distribution of food and
Christmas gifts to families in Zion; CCC contributes to this effort by
hosting a special dinner. We’re seeking CCC families who will come and
simply sit-down for a meal with these local families, engage in conversation
and work towards establishing a relationship with our neighbors. Who
knows, God may “open a door” for His message. We also need greeters,
servers and others to help with set-up and clean-up. Contact Susan
Wimmer or Pastor Mike for other ways you can help.
