Wardy’s Challenge – Babinda Golf Club
We had a fantastic turn out on Saturday, 22 November, with 15 teams (47 players) playing the 9-hole competition. Congratulations to this year’s
winners “Bandy’s Oldies” – David , May & Dot . A big thank you to Harry Anning and David Biancotti who organised the day ensuring that we had
plenty of food and prizes. Thank you to the golfers for playing on such a hot day!!
The “Raffle for Demi” was drawn after the presentations. The winners were:
2nd prize – won by Cristine Smith;
3rd prize – won by Macca
A huge thank you to those who donated towards the raffle - Babinda Bakery, Babinda Meat Mart, Babinda Munro Theatre, Babinda State Hotel, The
Hair Barracks, Roddo’s News, SPAR Babinda, Ward Family, Douglas Spoor, Tropicolor Nursery. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets in the raffle.
Proceeds from the raffle and a donation from the Babinda Golf Club have been presented to the Bettini Family.
Next year though, we look forward to having some outstanding new staff join us; with Mr

This year we say goodbye to Miss Alannah Aili, Mr Paul Grainger, Miss Stacie Soper, Ms
Sarah Xu and Miss Megan Dux. I wish these staff all the best in their future endeavours and
thank them for their efforts over the year/s.
Library Books and Lost Property
Please note all library books should have been returned to the library. If you still have library
books at home please return these as soon as possible. Also there are a number of marked
and unmarked items (clothing, shoes and lunch boxes) at the lost property. If you are
missing items, please go and check before the last Friday.

 Final day for all students
Final Week of School!
On Friday the 12th of December the end of the school year will have
arrived and I would like to take the opportunity to thank all those
involved with the school for their hard work over the year – our
parents and grandparents, community volunteers, teachers, teacher
aides, office staff, cleaners, Steve our janitor/groundsman, and the
many other staff and community supporters we have, thank you all for your ongoing support,
you are the people who make our school a great one. I am very much looking forward to
returning next year to continue working with you all.
If you see anything suspicious, please call the School Watch number – 13 17 88. If you do
see something suspicious, please don’t attempt to intervene, call the School Watch number
and let the local police or State Government Protective Security Service deal with the matter.
Merry Christmas!
Finally, I want to wish all of our students a safe holiday over the Christmas break and I look
forward to seeing all of them back, bright eyed and ready to learn on Tuesday 27 th of
January 2014. A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all and I look forward to an
even better year next year.

Earlier this term the Queensland Police Service,
on behalf of Innisfail Police Station, presented
Minjiluk Ambrum with a gift for his participation
in their Work Experience Program last year. Part
of this gift was the “Policing Queensland 18642014” book, commemorating 150 years of the
Police Service in Queensland.
