Our YLS Scholarship Fund provides high school seniors with scholarships to assist with their educational success. In 2013, $6,500 was awarded in scholarships to eleven students in Ventura County. YLS awards scholarships to at-risk youth that show outstanding promise. To achieve maximum impact, scholarship levels are $1,000 or $500. The highest level is reserved for students that have excelled in their studies and community. We also recognize that not all students move through their educational path at the same pace. Students often recognize the benefit of their education later in their high school career, and have worked to make significant changes towards a successful future. YLS will be accepting scholarship applications early-November through December 31, 2014. After careful review by our selection committee comprised of YLS board members and United Way of Ventura County staff we will award scholarships. On February 25, 2015 awarded students will attend the scholarship reception to officially be recognized of their achievement and meet with generous community sponsors.
