►
Act as responsible person for the design and
implementation of IOC data protection
programme and ensure compliance of IOC’s
and affiliated entities’ data processing with
applicable data protection laws as well as
transparency towards data subjects.
►
Coordinate actions within the IOC and
affiliated entities in relation to adoption and
implementation of data-related policies and
mechanisms
►
Coordinate with and report to competent
data protection authorities in Switzerland and
abroad
►
Educate and coordinate with organising
committees for the Olympic Games as well
as other entities within the Olympic
Movement on the issues related to privacy
and data protection

Each employee is responsible for the smooth running of his
or her section and for keeping his or her competences up to
date in line with the IOC’s training policy.
In addition, each employee may be asked to take on
responsibilities other than those required by the job if
particular circumstances so require.
Main responsibilities
Project Management
-
Oversee and lead the group-wide data protection and compliance programmes through a global
governance framework.

Act as the single point of contact and subject matter expert advising throughout the organisation on data
protection matters.

Asses the privacy and data protection implications in IOC and IOC-affiliated entities in activities sectors
such as :
o broadcast and communication through social/digital media in particular on Olympic Channel
o organisation of the Olympic Games and other events
o anti-doping
o prevention of manipulation of competitions
o human resources
o result databases
o IT projects

Advise on the adoption, drafting and implementation of privacy policies, terms of services, contracts, as
well as technical and organisational measures required to meet applicable regulatory requirements and
best practices.

Coordinate activities with representatives of IOC and affiliated entities business and technical teams,
local data protection officers and other persons with data protection roles.

Ensure reporting and coordination with competent data protection authorities in Switzerland and abroad
by acting as internal Data Protection Officer.

Interact with internal and external stakeholders (Legal, Information Technology/Security, Human
Resources, Communications, organising committees), as well as data protection authorities and develop
cooperation framework for the development of privacy and data protection standards and best practices.

Contribute to the development and implementation of services and activities by ensuring compliance with
data protection requirements.

Monitor evolution of data protection regulatory landscape and ensure compliance with any new
regulations.

Provide data protection advice to staff.

Training and language skills
-
University studies in law, or related field.

5 years post qualification professional experience in fields with exposure to data protection in a Swiss
and international environment.

Good understanding of information security, technology and new media.
-
Fluency in English and French are mandatory.

Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
