SONIC ART
VISITING ARTIST RESIDENCY PROGRAM
Founded in 2012, PANAL 361 is a creative center with 30 studio spaces, located in the
Abasto neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Argentina. PANAL 361 fosters the intersection of
different disciplines and the development of emerging and established artists.
This call for applications are for artists interested in doing a research and/or
production residency at PANAL 361 (Buenos Aires, Argentina) in August/September
2015.
The residency is part of an exchange programme. In 2016 an Argentinean artist will be
selected to take on a residency in Vienna with the focus on Sonic/Radio-Art.
The Exchange-Call will be announced in August 2015 hostet by Speisekammertag.
The creative approach is on SONIC ART.
The residency will run at least four weeks from the 10th August till the 30th September
2015. The artists can stay during the whole timeframe or less but shall at least stay 4
weeks at PANAL361.
The artists are asked to show some of their works during an
exhibition on SONIC ART. The show starts September 22nd 2015. The artists are asked to
be present.

A minimum of 5 digital/sound works. In case of video or audio, please submit
the link for review.
The submission of projects does not grant any rights to participants. All complete
proposals will receive a letter of acknowledgment upon arrival.
SELECTION PROCESS
The call for application will remain open until 14th of June 2015. During this period, Panal
361 will process the applications in the order they were received and will only contact
those applicants whose proposal has been accepted by the selection committee.
The jury consists of Helena Ferronato, Silvana Osejevich, Julietta Penedo, and Lale
Rodgarkia-Dara (AT)
The decisions will be based on the materials provided in the application. The proposals
will be reviewed by the evaluation committee that will assess the feasibility of the project
and that the quality and artistic opportunity are in compliance with the following criteria:
+ Quality and cohesiveness of the project
+ Suitability of the project
+ Feasibility of implementation
+ If applicable, relationship to other collaborators.
+ Artistic, conceptual or technical impact
+ Originality and degree of innovation

PROGRAM DETAILS
The residency will take place at Panal 361, based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. PANAL 361
is a creative center with 30 studio spaces, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. PANAL 361 fosters

If accepted, artists will receive:

Passage Vienna-Buenos Aires-Vienna
•
A work space at Panal 361 (including services, such as lighting and electricity as
well as basic furniture and unlimited Wi-Fi access).
•
Accommodations near the workplace. The visiting artists will be provided a
studio apartment equipped with a bed, a table, dishware and a bathroom with
shower.
Artists must follow the rules and regulations of space usage within Panal 361 (schedules,
security protocols, use of materials, available facilities, etc.) The space allocation will
depend on the type of project and the resources needed. Aside from the work space,
shared work areas, common areas and meeting places will be accessible to the visiting
artists.
The artist agrees to take part on the exhibition (opening September 22nd 2015).
The artist authorize to dispose Panal 361 the work /s made during the residence, as well
as playing for broadcast and print images as long as my authorship is credited to the
same. Once completed residency the artist agrees to take the work/s back. If the work/s
is sold to an interested party during their residency/exhibition at Panal 361, the artist
agrees to share the revenue equally with Panal 361.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION (min. 500 words-max. 1,000)
1. Title of the project or activity.
2. Project description (500 words min./ 1,000 words max.). List the main objectives that
you expect to accomplish through the visiting residency at Panal 361.
3. Name the entities or people that will collaborate in the residence (if you plan to
develop the project individually, state "none"). For each participating person or entity,
indicate their role in the project and contact details.
4. Indicate any special request or needs that should be taken into account for the
development of the project or activity.
END OF RESIDENCE
The artist agrees to take part on the exhibition (opening September 22nd 2015).
