Current Status
School support is good in many cases
Textbooks are provided for some schools
Schools like to have Japanese language as long as there is enough interest from students and parents
1) Japanese is the first one to get cut if there is student shortage
2) Student numbers must be met or else the class is eliminated or combined
3) Number of students per class is high for some schools (minimum 20 to 40 per class)
Current Problems
1) Declining number of students
2) Demanding teacher evaluation
3) 2-semesters or trimester
4) Varied student status
5) Overwhelming amount of work
6) Limited community involvement
7) Not enough time to collaborate
