Development of New Satellite Applications Call for International Student Participants School of Engineering/School of Information Science and Technology International Students Idea Deadline(Extended): January 22, 2016 (Friday) This academic year, in September, with Professor Shinichi Nakasuka from the Graduate School of Engineering as chair of the Cooperative Activity, 10 corporate bodies from Japan will gather to discuss Satellite Applications. Please join us at the University of Tokyo’s Science and Technology Exchange Salon "New Developments for Space" to discuss satellite applications in your home country. The salon is an opportunity to exchange ideas about effective use of satellites and consider regions where development is still underway, or where infrastructure has not developed yet. The aim is to work towards making those ideas a reality. We would love to hear your thoughts! ★Schedule★ 1. Idea Deadline(Extended): January 22, 2016 Prepare both a. and b. on one A4 size piece of paper and send it to the below address (either Japanese or English is acceptable). a. Current status and infrastructure relating to satellite applications in your home country b. New ideas for applications of satellites (multiple ideas acceptable) e-mail: [email protected] If there are a large number of applications, 4-5 individuals will be selected. 2. February: Individuals selected for participation will present their ideas. -Engage in discussions with academic and industry specialists -After the discussion, there will be an informal reception 3. March-June: Ideas with development potential will continue into salons with academic specialists, where the ideas will be brushed up. 4.
