Life is Small Project
知識基盤社会において、知識の総体は細分化された専門知
識の集積として加速度的に増えるが、それは必ずしも課題
解決のための豊かな知識を意味しない。
細分化された専門知の寄せ集めでは、急速にグローバル化
し、多様化、複雑化する現実世界の課題を解くことは困難
である。
また旧来の学際研究、異分野融合研究、産学連携研究によっ
ても対応が難しい新規課題も多い。
では、どうするのか？
狭義の専門家だけでなく、市民、行政、事業者、メディア
など様々な分野のアクターの知を集め、対話を通じて問題
を深めて、共創的に解決するしかないのではないか。
Life is Small Project は、市民が中心となってつくる、共創
プラットフォームの新しい試みであり、実践的な場である。
扉はすべての人に開かれている、もちろん、あなたにも。
As we learn more about the world we live in, another
branch of knowledge is added to science. But even
though we have built up a long and impressive list of
scientiﬁc research ﬁelds, it does not mean we have an
answer to everything.
No matter how much knowledge we put together from
several ﬁelds of science, there will always be real world
elements that science alone cannot answer.
New issues will continue to pop up that conventional
methods such as multidisciplinary research,
transdisciplinary research, and research with industry will
only be able to answer to a certain point.
So, what can we do?
It is our belief that the answer lies with reaching out to
the public, the government, businesses, and the media. If
we can work together with several stakeholders, we can
ﬁnd an answer to new problems that aﬀect all of us.
The Life is Small Project is a hands-on platform which
puts the public's view on center stage. The door is open
for everyone, including you.
