概　要 This course in business English is for intermediate level students.
The aim is to improve the English language skills and business skills needed in a
working environment. The first 4 weeks will focus on the most common business
communication skills. Students will then decide, by class vote, which areas to
concentrate on in the remaining weeks. The course emphasizes the practical side
of business communication.

After majoring in Political Science at The University
of Arizona, I started my own business in the leisure
industry. I have　been teaching English in Japan for
20 years. In addition to my college classes, I have
also taught at various companies in Tokyo and I have
experience helping organize training at all levels, from
office staff to executives. I　enjoy traveling around
Japan, swimming and cycling.

概　要 This course in business English is for intermediate to advanced level
students. Each semester we will focus on improving language skills through
discussing a business topic. At the beginning of each semester we will talk about
topics we would like to concentrate on. Typical topics are negotiation skills,
presentation skills, marketing and meeting etiquette. The teacher will also provide
photocopies, taken from a range of sources, and each week there will be a
choice of current newspaper articles to be studied for the following week.

University, China, I taught in Taiwan for several
years. In 1995 I returned to England where I
worked as a business counselor. I have worked
for Dokkyo University since 2001.

NHKラジオドイツ語講座を本学教員が担当します
NHKラジオ第2放送「まいにちドイツ語（応用編）」を、ドイツ語
学科アンゲリカ・ヴェルナー教授（写真中央）、山本淳教授（写真左）、
トーマス・マイヤー非常勤講師（写真右）の3人がティームで担当しま
す。タイトルは「ドイツ人が見たい日本― 雑誌＜クロイツ・ウント・
クヴェーア＞」。旅行雑誌の編集部を舞台に、会話と雑誌記事を通して
楽しくドイツ語のリスニング力や表現力を身に着けるとともに、ドイ
ツ語で日本を紹介する練習をします。放送は2015年4月から、木曜日・
金曜日7：00～7：15、再放送は同日15：15～15：30および翌週同曜日
11：30～11：45（予定）です。ぜひ、耳を傾けてみてください。
