Today, I will write about how to remember many English words, and how to know which words to study, because with the summer vacation, we have a wonderful opportunity to do these things. Learning vocabulary words in English is very, very important. To be able to have a good conversation, a person must know several thousand words. So how can we remember that many words? And how do we know which words to study? First of all, to remember words, I recommend the computer program Anki ( it is free). It can be downloaded from http://ankisrs.net. Anki is a “spaced repetition” program. The user makes flash cards and Anki quizzes the user on them. And how do we know which words to study? I recommend WORDCOUNT http://www.wordcount.org. WORDCOUNT is also free. It ranks the most -used words in English. For example: 1.The 2.Of 3.And 1000. James 1001. January 1002. standing 86000. fireballs 86001. diarists 86002. Hotteterres This makes it easy to know which words to learn next. Anyways, have a fun, safe summer! ニュージーランドクライストチャーチ在住の娘からのｅｓｓａｙは、先月の休暇中のことです。日本とは逆の季節で冬休みが終り、８月から３学期が始まりました。 ＮＺは４学期制で１０月に２週間の春休みがあり、そのあと１ヵ月半ほど勉強をし、１２月半ばに学年終了です。来年度からは、かなり勉強も難しくなるとか・・・ Hi. My name is Miyuna. I became fifteen years old in June. We had winter vacation for two weeks last month. I'm going to talk about the biggest event of the last holiday. I went to Nelson with my host family which is about 400km away from Christchurch. It took a really long time to get there. Some parts of the trip were beautiful but some were just really boring. In Nelson, we went to the town but there was really nothing to do. There were not many shops like the town in Christchurch but it looked different so it was okay. After the town we went to a big church just to look around. It was just really big, quiet, and peaceful. Another amazing place I went to was the centre of New Zealand! I was proud of myself when I was on the centre of NZ. On the way home we saw the seals and they were really cute. It was a fun time. I want to go there again. Thank you.
