ねらい
「聞く」「話す」「書く」活動を通して，助動詞 can の用法についての理解を深める。
準備するもの
シート 1，シート 2
時間・形態
15 分・クラス
実践方法
1. シート 2 を 6 枚に切り離し，各生徒 1 枚になるように配布する。
2. シート 1 を全員に配布し，会話パターンを確認する。
3. 生徒は自由に相手を見つけて，シート 1 の絵の内容について Can you
well? を使って互いに質問する。
［例］S1: Excuse me. Can you play tennis well?
S2:（自分のシートに You can play tennis well.と書いてあれば）
Yes, I can. I can play tennis well.
（自分のシートに You can play tennis well.と書いてなければ）
No, I can't. I can't play tennis well.
4. 相手の答えが Yes. なら絵の下にサインをしてもらって，そのまま次の質問に進
む。No.なら，別の相手を探して同様に質問する。
5. 最もはやくゴールに着いたものが勝ちとなる。

ゴールした生徒は［例］のように自分がインタビューした結果を報告する英文を
ノートに書く。
［例］Kitamura-kun can play tennis well.
Shimizu-san can dance well.
ワンポイント ● シート 2 を配布する際，その内容を互いに言ったり見せ合ったりしないようにさ
せる。
バリエーション ● シート 1 の絵の順番を入れ替えたり，別の絵を用いたりしていくつかのパターン
を準備しておくと，対話活動がより広がる。
