Tasting Notes The Barbaresco Rio Sordo Riserva, produced in exceptional vintages only, is the result of Carlo’s desire to make a wine that is already expressing its best when it goes to market, but will continue to improve as it ages. The nose maintains its personality related to the cru but adds elegant notes like sweet tobacco and licorice that only a great Nebbiolo can express after many years. A perfect pair with braised veal dishes, red meat or aged cheese. Tasting Notes The Barbaresco di Rio Sordo is the best expression of our vineyards. Grapes from this cru have always been the most sought after due to the unmistakable balsamic character released to the wines, giving them great personality. Still today its aroma profile is defined by eucalyptus and wild mint notes, with precise hints of wild berries, cherry, plum, all together giving an elegant and complex nose. Its deep, long tannins weave together with great concentration, giving a wonderful mouth feel that is persuasive and encompassing. A perfect pair with braised veal dishes, red meat or aged cheese.
