ZANGHÌ, La tutela internazionale dei diritti dell’uomo, Giappichelli, Torino, 2013 (only some chapters) Oral or written exam Topics Covered The course covers the following topics: the historic development and the features of the International Community (module 1); the sources of international law (module 2); the relation and link between the international legal order and the Italian legal order (module 3); the subjects of international law (module 4); the use of force in the international legal order and its limits (module 5); the resolution of international legal disputes (module 6); the international responsibility for wrongful act (module 7); the protection of human rights at the United Nations and European level (module 8). Course Objectives The principal aim of the course is to allow student to deepen the knowledge of the norms, principles and institutions that govern the International Community. At the same time the course will develop the capacity to understand and use the specific legal language concerning the international law. The final aim is to give to the student the necessary means to understand the role of international law in international relations and to prepare itself for a career in international organizations or public administrations and private company with international perspectives. Expected Results The student will have to demonstrate the knowledge of the institutions of international law and of the topics developed during the course.
