マラリア流行地図について
 アフリカは熱帯熱マラリアが猖獗を極めている地域で流行シ
ーズンには特に注意が必要です。しかし、赤道の南北で季
節は逆になり、気候により媒介蚊の発生する月が変わるの
で流行シーズンが地域により異なります。
 この地図は、地形・気候データから、マラリア流行地域を理
論的に算出した物です。実際の患者数からの地図ではあり
ません。この地図で示す以外の地域でマラリア感染の危険
がないことを保証する物ではありません。また、まだ、マダガ
スカルはデータがありませんが、ここもマラリア流行地です。
 この地図は、http://www.mrc.ac.za/mara/maps.htmで公
開されている、マラリア流行シーズンの開始・終了月の地図
をコンピュータ処理して月別地図にしました。
Background
 This map is a theoretical model based on available longterm climate data. It has a resolution of about 5x5 km.
Although it is reasonably accurate, it is not based on
actual malaria data and may not reflect the real malaria
status.
 It shows the theoretical suitability of local climatic, and
therefore the potential distribution of stable malaria
transmission in the average year.
 Please note that climatic conditions, and therefore
malaria transmission, vary substantially from one year to
the next. Malaria control activities can also dramatically
alter the malaria transmission situation. More work is
ongoing to refine this model.
