ASTE会議報告 奥田武志(国立天文台チリ観測所)

Diesel leak from a fuel tank
• TES Bolometer Camera:270/350/650GHz帯連続波
各装置の開発進捗状況、チリ観測所・JSACでの議論、
コミュニティからの要望を踏まえて決定。
Development of TES camera
for the ASTE 10m telescope
• Large format and dual-color
bolometer array
• Transition Edge Sensor (TES) + SQUID
readouts
• 270GHz: 169 pixels
• 350GHz: 271 pixels
• Enables wide-area and sensitive
mapping observations

Progress in 2012
Engineering run (April to June)
• Upgrade of infrastructures.
• Refrigerator systems.
• Clean up of RX cabin for
reduction of noise.
• …
• End-to-End testing and
first light obs.
Remaining major problem: Quality of the TES array
• Experimental arrays were used for the 2012 run.
• Some failures during the production process
• 270GHz: Low yields.
• 350GHz: Low Psat (unstable operation).
• Upgrading the TES arrays (=> 2013).

Prospects for 2013
• Next run is planned to be held from Nov. 2013 to Jan. 2014.
• Evaluation of the new TES arrays is ongoing at Nobeyama.
• Although not completely finished yet,
results at this time seem promising!
• See poster 58 & 59.
Histogram of Saturation Power (Psat)
(Critical parameter which determines responsibility
and sensitivity of the TES)
270GHz pixels
Slightly higher than
expected, but it works.
Bolometer power output
vs input power loading.
(includes optical and thermal
efficiencies)
350GHz pixels
In nice agreement with
the designed value.
Throughput seems
to be OK!!
