LIFE IN THE TRINITY
The name of the Trinity is, without a
doubt, the most familiar sacred name to
us. We speak it every me we make the
sign of the cross, and it forms the heart of
our Creed. Trinity Sunday is a good day,
however, to stop and reflect on the unique role of each of the
three persons we name so o en in the Trinity and in our own
lives. When we celebrate the Eucharist on Sunday, we come
together as the Body of Christ through our bap sm, and through
the power of the Holy Spirit we offer the whole prayer of the
Mass to God the Father. This presence of the Trinity does not
stop when we leave church on Sunday. We are—always and
everywhere—members of the Body, and every thing we do as
members of that Body is empowered by the Holy Spirit, all of it
offered to the glory of our loving Father.
Take a moment each day this week to reflect on how the
persons of the Trinity were present to you during the day, and
how other people came to see the presence of the Trinity in
your witness to the Good News.

ROUND TABLE FOCUS GROUPS
My sincere thanks to the 40 parishioners who participated in Tuesday’s Round Table Focus Group
to discuss Excellence in Our Sunday Mass. It was a very helpful to hear about what this dedicated
group of parishioners value most in our liturgy and what they find most challenging. I look forward
to digesting the information further with the help of staff and those already engaged in liturgical
ministry, and we hope to give you regular updates on next steps.
Please join us for this week’s Round Table Focus Group on
Enhanced Communication
Tuesday, June 2 at 7:00pm in the Cronin Center
We invite members of the community who are interested in this topic to join in on the
conversation. We are particularly interested in hearing from folks who have special background in
the area to come forward and let us know what skills and experience you can offer to the
community.
We thank you in advance for your generous response to our invitation.

you for your generosity.
ayudar a nuestra clienta indigente. Su bebé nació la

Announcement from San Francisco
Archdiocesan Respect Life Program
It has come to our attention that individuals have
been distributing flyers entitled “the truth about
birth control pills” at some parishes. The flyers
state that they were “approved by the
Archdiocese of S.F.” This is not true.
Our Respect Life Program and Office of
Marriage & Family Life can provide you with
accurate resources on this and other pro-life
and pro-family topics. We are here to discuss
and respond to your questions and concerns
regarding artificial contraception and natural
family planning (NFP).

The Solemnity of the
Most Holy Trinity
Today we celebrate
the Solemnity of the Most
Holy Trinity. The Holy
Trinity is one of the most
fundamental mysteries of
our faith. We profess our
belief in the Holy Trinity
as part of the Nicene
Creed, our Profession of
Faith, which we join together to say at Mass (the
Apostles' Creed, another
form, may be used at
Masses where children
are in the majority). The
word "creed" is drawn
from the Latin word credo,
which means, "I believe."
According to some
traditions the Apostles
composed the Apostles'
Creed on Pentecost Sunday, which we celebrated
one week ago. It is a natural progression for us to
celebrate this Feast at this
time, just after Pentecost
and at the end of our
Easter season. As indicat-
ed we consider the Holy
Trinity as a Mystery of
our faith. A Mystery in this
regard means that this is
something that goes beyond our ability to genuinely understand it completely.
That and other are
sometimes a challenge for
us as Catholics. If we do
not understand or fully
grasp something, we may
have a tendency to
doubt, to have reservations. One of the joys of
stewardship is trusting
completely in God, of accepting that fact that we
may never have all the
answers. Needing all the
answers is a human failing. As professed Catholics we need to accept,
and we need to follow
and commit to the Lord's
call to discipleship.

TRUE RICHES

Women and Spirit"
In response to the call of Pope Francis who declared
2015 the Year of Consecrated Life, the Archdiocesan Council of Religious is presenting the film,
"Women and Spirit" based on the exhibit of the
same name which toured throughout the United
States. This film chronicles the history of the thousands of Sisters who came to this country and
founded the Catholic School system, built hospitals,
orphanages, homes for the poor, mental institutions,
and many more programs benefitting the poor and
marginalized. Following the film, there will be a
panel of religious who will speak of their work in
the Archdiocese as well as throughout the world
and who will inspire each of us to live our baptismal
call to discipleship.

Nueva.
