NCEA 2015: An opportunity to make time for you
Bishop Noonan recently sent a reminder to priests that I want to share:

Not another announcement! I know how many announcements you receive each day for various opportunities to enrich
ministry. This particular notice is important to me and that is why I am sending it to you.
The Diocese of Orlando is hosting the National Catholic Educational Association’s Annual Convocation and Expo. It provides an
incredible formation opportunity for everyone. In fact, I asked that in lieu of last year’s (2014) Faith Formation Day we instea

create a component for parish catechists, lay ministers, and ministry professionals that would enable them to take part in th

post--conference CATECHIST DAY to take place on April 99-10, 2015.The event will highlight nationally

sessions related to the family in English and Spanish. Obviously, I encourage your parish’s full participation – EVERYONE IS
WELCOME! Invitation is an expression of your gratitude for all that your staff, volunteers, and interested parishioners do to

Confirmation and Baptized Catholics
Just a reminder: baptized Catholics must be confirmed by Bishop Noonan; they cannot be confirmed at the Easter Vigil.
In addition to the many parish celebrations taking place during the Easter season, Bishop Noonan will celebrate the
Sacrament of Confirmation on Pentecost Sunday (May 24th) at St. James Cathedral at the 5:00pm Mass. If your parish has
adult Catholics who are ready to be confirmed, or teens who missed their parish ceremony, arrangements can be made for
them to participate at a neighboring parish or at the Cathedral. A member of the parish staff is to contact the appropriate
person at the parish where the ceremony takes place and provide them with all the information necessary for the
sacramental register. The contact person at St. James Cathedral is Steve Bucklin [email protected]

Catechist Formation Update
The end is coming. Of the academic year, of course. Only
eleven classes in English and six in Spanish remain on the
current calendar. There are many seats available in April and
May classes. Many participants have asked to pay by check
or were unregistered attendees, walking into classes which
had space. As of this writing, 99 class completions are being
withheld pending receipt of class fees. Attendance at class
brings completion only when the class fee is paid.

Pilot for UDayton VLCFF (Virtual Learning Community
for Faith Formation)
Last call for pilot parishes to host onsite UDayton courses
and for potential facilitators for this new initiative in English
and Spanish.
