Buenos Aires, Argentina SETAC–Latin America: SETAC Latin America is a Geographic Unit (GU) of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC), established to promote and undertake activities of SETAC in Latin America. SETAC is a not‐for‐profit, global professional organization comprised of some 6,000 individual members and institutions from academia, business and government. Since 1979, the Society has provided a forum where scientists, managers and other professionals exchange information and ideas on the study, analysis and solution of environmental problems, the management and regulation of natural resources, research and development, and environmental education. SETAC's founding principles are:  Multidisciplinary approaches to solving environmental problems  Tripartite balance among academia, business and government  Science‐based objectivity Meeting Objectives: The objective of the SETAC‐LA 11th Biennial Meeting "The role of science in environmental decision‐making" is to continue with the series of SETAC‐LA Meetings and to promote the interaction among Latin American professionals engaged in environmental science with colleagues from other parts of the world. Oral presentations will be in any of these three languages. However the slides and posters will be in English, in order to enable international harmonization. Scientific Program: The scientific program will include: Short courses, one workshop, three plenary lectures, 18 different sessions on selected topics, a Special Symposium and 3 Poster Social Sessions.
