After a day at leisure in the city, we will make our way to ‘La Ventana’ for a dinner and Tango show. Tango portrays the ‘Queen of the River Plate’ (‘Reina Del Plata’). We will enjoy an unforgettable night, surrender to the magic of this city that never sleeps and enjoy the best of its varied gastronomic offerings. Home to the gaucho, the humid Pampa is one of the most fertile natural prairies in the world. Only a few kilometres from the City of Buenos Aires, Santa Susana Ranch will be our hosts for the day, and in between the folk songs, dances, equestrian activities and gaucho shows, we will be treated to fine Argentinian wines, freshly cooked empanadas, and a delicious Asado of fresh Argentinian meats. We will visit different types of wineries (boutique, author, family, artisan, industrial), walk among the vineyards, and learn about the many elaboration methods. We will taste the best Argentinian wines during the day, and enjoy a delicious lunch with the majestic Cordón del Plata hills as our backdrop. On our way back to the hotel, we will stop off at one or two wineries for a spot of wine and olive tasting. Upon arrival, our driver will be waiting to transfer to us to our hotel. We will spend the rest of the day at leisure, enjoying this pretty town. Overnight: Kosten Aike – Standard Room (or similar) Meal Plan: Breakfast Day 9 31/01/2015 After an early breakfast, we will head off on our Full-Day tour to the Perito Moreno Glacier. The Perito Moreno Glacier sits just 80 km away from El Calafate, and is one of the largest and the only advancing glacier in the world. We will start by penetrating the Patagonic Andean forest and make a first breathtaking stop at “Curva de los Suspiros” (Curve of Sighs), where we will enjoy a first view of this incredible natural wonder. We will then approach the glacier and walk down the wooden catwalks to the different panoramic points of this wonderful creation of Mother Nature. After a picnic lunch, we will set sail out of the Bajo de las Sombras Bay port, and make our way to the southern wall of the glacier for a “close-up” of this natural wonder. After crossing the Chilean border, we will access the park by Laguna Amarga and continue to Sarmiento Lake where we will make a short stop to enjoy the landscape. From here, we will continue our route to Nordenskjöld Lake with its magnificent views of the ‘Cuernos del Paine’, and then on to Salto Grande. On our way back, we will stop at different viewpoints to admire the immensity of the Andes Mountain range. We will observe various wildlife along the way including a small colony of Cormorants and the resident sea mammals of Isla de los Lobos (Sea Lion Island). The afternoon is yours to do as you please; you can either relax in Ushuaia, or take an optional half-day excursion to the Tierra del Fuego National Park.
