I am pleased to announce that TJ Fuller, currently principal at Woodstock Elementary School –
and a former assistant principal at Rigler, will be Rigler’s next principal. He follows Judy Scott,
who has been serving as interim principal.
Mr. Fuller started his teaching career in Atlanta, Georgia as a Teach for America Corps Member.
There, he learned how to work with a wide variety of students from various backgrounds, races,
cultures, and ethnicities. Mr. Fuller has demonstrated deep passion and commitment to working
with students from different backgrounds, believing that all students can achieve at a high level.
He has forged partnerships with families, community members, and stakeholders understanding
the vital role that adults play in students’ lives.
In 2006, Mr. Fuller moved to Portland where he taught at Rosa Parks Elementary. He moved
to Faubion K-8 School as a student management specialist and principal intern. He then served
as assistant principal at Rigler for two years learning to lead a school with a neighborhood and
immersion program. From Rigler, he was transferred to Robert Gray Middle School where
he served as assistant principal. In 2013, Mr. Fuller was promoted to principal at Woodstock
Elementary in Southeast Portland. Woodstock is a Chinese Immersion and neighborhood school
that serves nearly 500 students.
Mr. Fuller is very excited for his return to Rigler and feels like he is “coming home.”
He told me that in his work, he has learned the value and importance of safety, student and
staff wellbeing, holding high expectations, and relentlessly pursuing high achievement. He plans
to carry these values with him to Rigler while at the same time celebrating and honoring the
traditions and hard work already in place.
Mr. Fuller becomes principal at Rigler on July 1st. Please join me in thanking Principal Scott for
her service at Rigler. And, please join me in welcoming Mr. Fuller back to Rigler.

Estoy encantada de anunciar que TJ Fuller, el actual director de Woodstock Elementary School, y pasado
subdirector de Rigler, será el nuevo director de Rigler. El sigue a Judy Scott, quien ha servido como
directora temporal.
El Sr. Fuller comenzó su carrera de maestro en Atlanta, Georgia como un miembro del programa Teach

en Rigler por dos años donde aprendió a guiar una escuela con programas de inmersión y de vecindario.
De Rigler fue transferido a Robert Gray Middle School donde sirvió como subdirector. En 2013, el Sr.
Fuller fue promovido a director de Woodstock Elementary en el sureste de Portland. Woodstock es una
escuela con programa de inmersión en chino mandarino, y programa de vecindario que sirve a casi 500
estudiantes.
El Sr. Fuller esta muy emocionado por regresar a Rigler y siente que “regresa a casa.” El me dijo que en su
trabajo ha aprendido el valor y la importancia de la seguridad, y el bienestar del personal y los estudiantes,
de tener altas expectativas, y de buscar logros académicos altos a base de determinación y esfuerzo
continuo. Él planea llevar estos valores con él a Rigler mientras celebra y honra las tradiciones y el arduo
trabajo que ya existen allí.
