2015 Campaign booklet ビッグ・リード・コンテスト概要 What is the Big Read? オックスフォード・ビッグ・リードとは ? The Oxford Big Read competition is a reading competition for junior-senior high, college, and university students throughout Japan. Students who participate will be asked to read 1 graded reader and create a 2-D item which can be in the form of a poster, a postcard, book cover, etc. The created item should include a review in English about the title as well as some creative artwork on it. オックスフォード・ビッグ・リードとは、日本全国の中学校、 高等学校、高等専門学校、専門学校、短期大学、大学の 生徒を対象とした読書コンテストです。コンテストへの参 加希望者はグレイディッド・リーダーの中から 1 冊を選び、 その本を読んだ後に内容や好きな点などを表現したポス ター、ポストカード、ブックカバーなどの作品を制作してい ただきます。 応募対象者 Who can apply? 日本国内の中学校、高等学校、高等専門学校、専門学校、 Any students in Japan at the junior-senior high, college, or university level can apply. All applications however must be submitted through a teacher at an eligible school. Each national prize winner will receive a certificate and a Tosho Card (¥10,000 value) which can be used at participating bookstores throughout Japan. Best of the New Prize: This is a new prize category for the best entry based on one of our new graded readers. One winning student (chosen by a panel of OUP Marketing Staff) will receive a certificate and a Tosho Card (¥10,000 value) which can be used at participating bookstores throughout Japan. If you register by institution, you will be able to submit up to 3 entries from the institution to OUP for judging. 大会参加及び作品制作に当たっては、スターターパックを ご活用ください。 It is up to you, the teacher, to assign the Big Read as an assignment or homework and to select the top 3 entries per class, grade or institution, depending on how the teacher registered the students. You are encouraged to help your students, but the work should be created by the student. Please make sure all final submissions are submitted via post or email by October 31st, 2015. Postage must be paid by the institution or teacher. It includes some questions that they can answer to help them write their English review or recommendation. This is not the created item itself, but a guide to help the students create their items.
