Dr. King taught us that we are all God’s children, and God did not favor any one group of children or people, but instead loves all of us. In honor of this special day that recognizes the Atlanta native Dr. King, we at SAINTS did a service learning project to help those in need. 私達の住むアトランタで生まれたキング牧師は、私達の住むアトランタで生まれたキング牧師は、私達は全て神様の子どもであると教えてくださいましキング牧師は、私達は全て神様の子どもであると教えてくださいました。神様は、分け隔てをなさることなく、私達みんなを愛してくださいました。このキング牧師の教えを覚え、キング牧師の記念日に今年もセインツでは、困っている人達、特に子ども達を助けようと、サービスラーニングプロジェクトを行いました。 Our students and families came together and donated school supplies to send to children in need. Several parents volunteered to sew sturdy bags to hold the material and Tombow USA even donated special erasers. SAINTS spirit of willingness and love shined through as we were able to assemble 25 school kits. Our second graders took time to pack each bag with love. Thank you everyone for your support. 今回のサービスラーニングプロジェクトには、セインツの園児・児童・保護者が一緒に取り組みました。文房具をみんなが献品しました。お母様たちは、文房具を入れる袋を縫ってくださいました。トンボＵＳＡからは、よく消える日本の消しゴムをいただきました。皆様の暖かいご好意のおかげで、２５の文房具バックをつくることができました。二年生が袋詰め作業を丁寧に行いました。ありがとうございました。 We will be donating to UMCOR and they will turn around and give supplies to children in need. They stated on their webpage: “In some countries, children don't have books or school supplies. Many have no schoolrooms; classes are held in inadequate or half-destroyed buildings, tents, or even the open air. School kits may be these children's only educational resources.” ＵＭＣＯＲ（合同メソジスト教会救済組織）に送り、そこから文房具をもっていない子ども達のところへと郵送されます。ＵＭＣＯＲのウエブサイトには、本や文具がなく、きれいな教室もないため、壊れかけた建物やテント、または外で勉強している子ども達が世界には大勢いることが書かれています。
