• Herzlich willkommen in Bordo, dem Ort, an dem der Geist zur Ruhe kommt.
Die Dorfgemeinschaft Bordo begrüßt Sie als Gast in ihrem buddhistischen Zentrum
"Karma Dechen Yangtse" und in ihrem Seminarhaus "Casa Castagneto". Wir
wünschen Ihnen im Dorf und im Valle Antrona eine erholsame und inspirierende Zeit!

community of Bordo welcomes you as guest in their Buddhist center "Karma Dechen
Yangtse" and in their seminar house "Casa Castagneto". We wish you a relaxing and
inspiring time in Bordo and in the Antrona Valley!

Weg – Sentiero – Path
• … man geht bergan und lässt seine Alltagslasten im Tal zurück, während eine
Materialseilbahn das Reisegepäck nach oben zieht. Im Dorf angekommen findet
man sich in einem Kreis von Häusern wieder, die mit ihren Natursteinmauern und
den Steindächern die Jahrhunderte überdauert haben, Zeugen einer längst
vergangenen Zeit.

quotidiana, mentre una teleferica porta in alto i bagagli. E poi si entra nel villaggio, in
un altro mondo, in un altro tempo. Ci si ritrova in un cerchio di case sopravvissute nel
corso dei secoli con muri e tetti in pietra.
• … walking uphill you leave your daily burdens behind in the valley, while a Seilbahn
brings up your baggage. You enter the village and find yourself in a world of "once
upon a time", surrounded by a cluster of houses with stone walls and stone roofs,
which have survived the centuries.

• Bordo ist zu jeder Jahreszeit reizvoll. Im Frühjahr und Sommer kann man mit Freunden
zusammensitzen und den Ausblick auf die Bergmassive genießen. Der Herbst und der
Winter sind ideale Zeiten für Retreats und Meditation. Im gut gepflegten, terrassierten
Garten warten lauschige Ecken darauf entdeckt zu werden: Lassen sie Ihre Seele
baumeln …
• Bordo ha il potere di coinvolgere in ogni stagione. In primavera e in estate potete
sedervi con gli amici e godere la vista delle montagne. Autunno e inverno sono
periodi ideali per il ritiro e la meditazione. Nei ridenti giardini terrazzati, angoli tranquilli
aspettano di essere scoperti – e anche la pace della mente …

Für Gruppen – Per gruppi – For groups
• Für Gruppenveranstaltungen steht ein Gruppenraum (30 m2 ) mit geräumigem
Vorraum zur Verfügung. Die darunter liegende Gästeküche mit anschließendem
Essraum und Essterrasse im Freien kann benutzt werden, wenn man selbst für sich
kochen will. Die Rasenfläche bei der Stupa bietet Raum für Tai Chi und ähnliche Kurse.
• Nella Casa degli Ospiti una sala piuttosto grande (30 m2 ) con un’ampia entrata è
destinata alle attività di gruppo. Una cucina separata con sala da pranzo e terrazza
annessa permette di preparare autonomamente i pasti. Il prato vicino allo Stupa può
essere usato per i corsi di Tai Chi o per altre attività di movimento.
• In the guesthouse a seminar room (30 m2 ) with a spacious entry is available for
group courses. Right underneath there is a separate kitchen with dining room and
an outdoor terrace in case you want to cook for yourselves. The lawns surrounding the
Stupa can be used for Tai Chi courses and similar activities.

• Die historischen Steinhäuser in Bordo wurden mit viel Liebe zum Detail restauriert.
Es stehen mehrere Ein- bis Fünfbettzimmer zur Verfügung. Es sind Räume, die mit
ihrer Schlichtheit bezaubern. Die vegetarischen Mahlzeiten können auf der Essterrasse mit Ausblick auf die Berge, auf der Piazza Milarepa oder im Essraum eingenommen werden.
• Il restauro delle case storiche di Bordo è stato eseguito con grande cura. Sono
disponibili diverse stanze da 1 a 5 letti, arredate in modo semplice e funzionale. I pasti,
vegetariani, si possono consumare in terrazza, dove è possibile ammirare le bellissime
montagne della valle, o nella sala da pranzo oppure nella Piazza Milarepa dove sono
stati sistemati tavolini e sedie.
• The historically precious stone houses in Bordo were restored with much love and
attention to detail. Several rooms with one to five single beds are available. The rooms
are functional and charming due to their simplicity. The vegetarian meals can be
enjoyed on the balcony with its lovely view of the mountains, at the Piazza Milarepa
or in the dining room.

Geschichte – Storia – History
• Anfang der 80er Jahre war Bordo ein von Sträuchern und Bäumen überwuchertes,
seit Jahrzehnten verlassenes Dorf. Junge idealistische SchweizerInnen und Deutsche
entdeckten es für sich und machten die Häuser wieder bewohnbar. Nach und nach
kauften sie von den wohlwollenden italienischen Besitzern Häuser und Grundstücke.
Ein reges Gemeinschaftsleben mit Familien und vielen Kindern entstand. Seit Anfang
dieses Jahrhunderts sind jedoch die meisten BewohnerInnen in ihre Ursprungsländer
zurückgekehrt. Nun gilt es für die Dorfgemeinschaft neue Wege zu gehen, unter
Beibehaltung der Vision: "Bordo ist ein Ort der Herzens- und Geistesschulung, die sich
an der Lehre Buddhas orientiert und dem Wohle aller Wesen dient."
• All'inizio degli anni '80 Bordo, un villaggio abbandonato da decenni, era invaso da
rovi ed erbacce. Giovani idealisti tedeschi e svizzeri lo scoprirono e cominciarono a
rendere nuovamente abitabili gli edifici. Poco a poco, acquistarono case e terreni
dai proprietari italiani che si rivelarono ben disposti nei loro confronti. Cominciò così
una vivace vita di comunità con famiglie e numerosi bambini. Ma sul finire degli anni
'90, la maggior parte dei residenti ha fatto ritorno nei paesi d'origine. Ora è tempo di
intraprendere una nuova via, pur mantenendo la visione di fondo: "Bordo è un luogo
per l'allenamento del cuore e della mente, orientato all'insegnamento del Buddha,
con lo scopo di portare beneficio a tutti gli esseri."
• At the beginning of the 80s Bordo was overgrown by shrubs and trees – a village
abandoned for decades. Then some young and idealistic Swiss and Germans
discovered it for themselves and made the buildings habitable again. Gradually they
bought houses and land from the benevolent Italian owners. A vivid community life
with families and many children arose. Since the beginning of the century however
most residents have returned to the countries of their origin. Now it is time for the
village comunity of Bordo to take a new path, still maintaining its vision: "Bordo is a
place for the training of heart and mind, following the teachings of Buddha, which
serves benefitting all sentient beings."

• Der Buddhismus spielte bei der Neubesiedelung Bordos von Anfang an
eine zentrale Rolle. Shamar Rinpoche,
einer der wichtigsten Meister der
Karma Kagyü Linie des tibetischen
Buddhismus, hatte dem Platz 1982
den Namen "Karma Dechen Yangtse"
(Ort höchster Glückseligkeit) gegeben.
Schon bald wurde ein Meditationsraum
gebaut und eine Stupa errichtet.
Shamar Rinpoche hat die spirituelle
Leitung Bordos als Bodhipath Retreat
Center inne. Er hat ein sehr hilfreiches
Studien- und Meditationsprogramm
zusammengestellt, das Bodhipath
Curriculum. Während seines Besuches in
Bordo 2006 betonte er die Qualitäten
des Platzes für Mahamudrapraxis.
• Fin dagli inizi della rinascita di Bordo il Buddhismo ha avuto un ruolo decisivo. Nel 1982
Shamar Rinpoce, uno dei maestri più importanti della scuola Karma Kagyu del
Buddhismo Tibetano, dà al luogo il nome di "Karma Dechen Yangtse" (Il Luogo della
Grande Beatitudine). Ben presto si costruiscono una sala di meditazione e uno Stupa.
Shamar Rinpoce è la guida spirituale di Bordo, divenuto "Centro di Ritiro Bodhipath".
Ha elaborato un proficuo programma di studi e di pratiche di meditazione,
il "Curriculum Bodhipath". Durante la sua visita nel 2006 sottolinea che Bordo è un
luogo particolarmente adatto e favorevole per la pratica della Mahamudra.
• From the very start of Bordos' revival Buddhism has played a central role. In 1982
Shamar Rinpoche, one of the most important teachers of the Karma Kagyu lineage
of Tibetan Buddhism, gave the village the name "Karma Dechen Yang Tse" (Place of
the Highest Happiness). Soon after a meditation room was built and later on a Stupa
was constructed. Shamar Rinpoche is the spiritual guide of Bordo as Bodhipath
Retreat center. He created a very helpful program of studies and meditation
practices, the Bodhipath Curriculum. During his visit in 2006 he emphasized the
qualities of Bordo for the practice of Mahamudra.

2006 waren wichtige Ereignisse für alle Buddhisten, die mit Bordo verbunden sind.

state un evento importante per tutti i Buddhisti che hanno un legame con Bordo.
• The visit of H.H. Karmapa Thaye Dorje in 2004 and of H.H. Shamar Rinp. in 2006 were
important events for all Buddhists who are closely connected with Bordo.

• Ende der 90er Jahre wurde ein Haus für Retreatbesucher umgebaut. In diesem
"Dharmahaus" stehen 6 Zimmer, 2 Bäder, 1 Küche und ein kleiner Tempel zu Verfügung.
• Verso la fine degli anni '90 viene trasformata una casa per chi desidera fare un ritiro.
In questa Casa di Dharma ci sono 6 stanze, 2 bagni, 1 cucina e un piccolo tempio.
• Towards the end of the 90s one house was rebuilt for practitioners who wish to go
on a retreat. This Dharma House offers 6 rooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 kitchen and a small
temple.

Relax
• Bordo ist ein Platz zum Entspannen, zum Auftanken und Erholen, zum Sein in Einfachheit, zum Ausruhen, zum Reflektieren und Meditieren.
Mauerfarne sprießen zwischen den Steinen hervor, Brennholz für den Winter ist
gestapelt, man bewegt sich auf uralten Pfaden: Die Naturelemente sprechen die
Sinne an, wirken wie Balsam auf unseren von Unruhe aufgewühlten Geist.
• Bordo è un luogo per rilassarsi, riposarsi e rigenerarsi; un luogo per vivere la
semplicità, per riflettere su se stessi ed immergersi nella meditazione.
Nei muri, tra le pietre, spuntano le felci; la legna da bruciare è accatastata in
bell'ordine per l'inverno; ci si sposta su antichi sentieri. Gli elementi naturali risvegliano
i nostri sensi e sono un balsamo per la nostra mente troppo sovente inquieta.
• Bordo is a place to relax, to recharge and to rest, and to live simply; a place for
reflection and meditation.
Wall ferns sprout between the stones, firewood is stacked for the winter. We walk upon
ancient paths: Natures' elements appeal to all our senses and are a balsam for our
restless mind.

• Die ursprüngliche Natur beschenkt uns mit einer artenreichen Vegetation, klarem
Bergwasser, stillen Plätzen und frischer Luft. Man trifft auf rar gewordene Tierarten wie
bestimmte Schmetterlinge, Smaragdeidechsen, Feuersalamander und Fledermäuse.
Nachts sieht man den klaren Sternenhimmel. Höher oben in den Bergen findet man
sanft gerundete Grashügel und blickt von Weide zu Weide über das Tal.
• La natura ci avvolge con una ricca vegetazione, con acqua pulita di montagna,
con angoli tranquilli e aria fresca. È facile incontrare insetti e animali rari come farfalle,
ramarri, salamandre e pipistrelli. Di notte è meraviglioso il cielo stellato. Salendo più in
alto si trovano soffici prati che ricoprono i pendii e luoghi dai quali son possibili vedute
spettacolari della valle.
• The untouched nature endows us with a rich vegetation, pure mountain water,
quiet places and clean fresh air. One meets animals which have become rare in
other parts of Europe, like certain butterflies, Emerald lizards, fire salamanders and
bats. At night you can see the starry skies. Higher up the mountain you will find rolling
grassy hills. From one pasture to the next one can see across the valley.
