We are happy to remind us back. Of course, there was much to do, sort of, select for, stacks, and carry around, and finally throw it away. But the best part is, there lacks nothing. But what we are missing, all the nice people we had to leave; who encourages us, who exhorts us, who helped us, who tolerate us, who supported us, who have awarded us, who understood us, and who have not understood us and loved anyway. Many Thanks! We miss you! We are sincerely grateful how things are going here. Everything worked out fine. After a good flight, we arrived in Lima, where we had to settle the formalities. In the guest house of Indicamino we were in good hands, and received any assistance. After a week we traveled in the Andes of Peru, at 2300 meters above sea level - to Arequipa. A city surrounded by snowy mountains, with up to over 6000 meters above sea level. The big challenge for us is still the social imbalance. The lady rummaging in the garbage for PET bottles to get a few cents and around the corner is a car of 100‘000.-Dollars. The country is undergoing a tremendous development. There are various natural resources exploited and who shares it, is rich, but a lot of people fall by the wayside. In addition to the margins of society, challenge us the language. Beat has not seen a school desk from near decades, and must be enormous focus now to the thread not to lose. For Dorothea rather it is a healthy challenge. And enjoy any Spanish conversation with a taxi driver, market traders or neighbors. And last but not least opens up the Spanish language a new access to the Bible, which we read in Spanish again with eyes wide open (and hopefully the heart too). The foreign culture challenges us and makes so many things in question. Praise and thanksgiving, we have very good Spanish and Culture Teachers, which translate us some unspoken answer to „German“. For the children we have a kindergarten found, where they have a lot of fun. Where they play and tinker a lot, and learn Spanish more playful. But all three children go together in the same class, thou it’s easier for them to start. In the afternoon we all do homework. Also Joel (6) likes to have his homework. He is absolutely ready for school in the summer. Silas really like drawing, with preference cows and sheeps. Already we are planning on going forward. In early July for us, the Spanish instruction ends. Afterwards we drive again to Lima for formalities and then we look forward to Cashibo, where we will be „home“ and will be our field of activity. We are grateful to God that we were able to start largely healthy, and that we are led so gracious, whether at school, in kindergarten or in the free time. So far, our news. Of course we are very happy about all the news of you, from Switzerland or the rest of the world. We never thought that we are so strongly rooted in Switzerland.
