Presbytery of Ohio OUTREACH Winter 2015
The Orthodox Presbyterian Church
Trinity OPC/Huntington, WV (Grace OPC/
Columbus, OH overseeing session) Organizing
Pastor David Robbins reports that the primary
outreach continues to be with students at
Marshall University through Trinity University
Fellowship. There have been challenges on
several fronts (building, outreach, and
illnesses). Please pray Pastor David and the
mission families would not grow discouraged.
Please pray too that God’s will for the mission as it makes plans for 2015
would become known. Praise God for the improving finances due to the
giving of the members and presbytery churches.
Redeemer OP Mission/Pittsburgh, PA
(Covenant OPC/Grove City overseeing session)
Organizing Pastor Tom Albaugh reports continued
visitors at Redeemer. The goal for 2015 is to focus
on the things needed in preparation for Redeemer
to become a self-governing, self-sustaining, and
self-propagating congregation. Please pray for
Dave Ramos who is in officer training. Pray that
God would raise up other men to become the new
officers (elder and deacon) of this church plant. Pray for new families
and also for the relocation of Louis Cloete and his family as he has
finished his internship in 2014.
Grace Fellowship OPC/Huron, OH (Covenant
OPC/ Mansfield, OH overseeing session) RHM
Larry Oldaker reports that the OPC committee on
home missions (CHMCE) declined to approve
funding for an organizing pastor in 2015 citing
the group’s small size and lack of recent growth.
The presbytery’s CHEX Committee and the
overseeing session are committed to helping the
group to grow if God wills in 2015. Pray that God would add 3-4more
families this year and that those expressing interest would commit.
Knox OPC – Mt Vernon, OH The Presbytery of
Ohio met December 5 and dissovled the pastoral
relationship bewteen Pastor Sacha Wallicord and
Knox OPC/Mt Vernon at Pastor Wallicord’s request
and the church’s concurence. He has taken a call in
the RPCUS. RHM Larry Oldaker was appointed
ministerial advisor at the request of the Knox OPC
session. Please pray for the man of God’s choice as
the next pastor of Knox OPC to be made known to
the congregation. Pray that God would provide for
Knox OPC/Mt Vernon as they are in this transition phase. Men of the
presbytery are preaching for Knox in the interium. Pray too for continued
unity and growth during this time.
Good Shepherd OPC/Cincinnati, OH Pastor Chris Malamisuro reports
that attendance has been in the 40s the last quarter of 2014. Several
families have visited. Please pray that
families will connect with the church and
become active members. Two men are in
officer training and a good Thank Offering
was received. Please pray that God would
lead the church into effective outreach
activities in 2015 and that God would bring
several families to the church.
Developing Opportunities:
Lancaster, OH: Please pray for an openning for the gospel and the
reformed faith in this area and southeastern Ohio.
Sharon/Hermitage, PA: Two elders from Covenant OPC/Grove City,
PA, Paul Tavares & Shawn Ritenour, continue to lead a Bible study on
Thursday evenings. Please pray that God would create a desire for his
word in this area and add to this group to make them a viable mission
work of the presbytery.
Findlay, OH: RHM Larry Oldaker will be following up on the 3-4
interested families who have attended the Bible studies offered in 2014.
Pray that God would open a door for the gospel and a reformed witness
in this area of Ohio.
