FILLING OF VACANCIES IN THE GRADE OF OF FORESTER AND FOREST GUARD
UNDER DIRECT RECRUITMENT QUOTA ON CONTRACTUAL BASIS.
Applications in the prescribed format are invited from the candidates for recruitment to the post
of Foresters and Forest Guards in different Divisions of Baripada Circle for filling up of vacancies on
contractual basis under direct recruitment quota in accordance with the Odisha Sub-Ordinate Forest
Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Foresters ) Rules, 1998 and the Odisha
Sub-Ordinate Forest Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Forest Guards)
Rules, 1998. The completed applications should reach the respective Divisions on or before 11th
December2014. For the post under Balasore Working Plan Division the application should be sent to the
DFO, Balasore WL Division. Incomplete, defective applications and applications received after due
date shall not be taken into consideration and shall be liable for rejection.
The place of examination will be intimated by the concerned Divisions to the eligible candidates
whose applications are found to be in order and complete in all respect and will also be displayed in
office notice Board.

Remuneration
:
The service conditions and emoluments shall be governed by the
Odisha
Group-C and Group-D posts (contractual appointment) Rules,2013
notified vide No.32010-GAD dt. 12.11.2013 of the GA Department Government
of Odisha.
Forester :
Pay-Rs. 5200/-+Grade pay Rs. 2000/-=Rs.7200/- only per month
Forest Guard: Pay-Rs. 5200/-+Grade pay Rs. 1800/-=Rs.7000/- only per month
Eligibility:
1. He/ she shall be a citizen of India.
2. He/she shall be able to speak, read and write Oriya fluently and must have
passed an examination in Oriya language in M.E. school standard.
3. He/she shall have a good character.
4. The candidate shall have valid Registration Certificate of the Employment
Exchange. A candidate shall be eligible to apply for any post of a particular
Division if he has registered in the District Employment Exchange or subordinate Employment Exchange in the District of the concerned Forest Division.
Educational Qualification
Forester -
+2 Science Passed from a recognized University / Institution.
Forest Guard- 10+ (HSC) passed from recognized Institutions/Boards.
Age limit : (As on 31.10.2014)
Forester :
Between 20 – 32 years
Forest Guard : Between 18 - 32 years
Provided that upper age is relaxed by five years in case of SC/ST and
Woman candidate and, by three years in case of SEBC candidate and, as per
the special provision made regarding age limit in respect of Ex-service men in
rule 5 of Orissa Ex-service men ( Recruitment to State Civil service and posts)
Rules 1985.

The candidates of all categories shall be examined by the Chief District
Medical Officer to testify that they possess sound health and general
physical fitness for outdoor work in Forest Department.

The candidates must be of sound health, good physique and active

and be free from any organic defect or bodily infirmity.
No physically handicapped candidate shall be eligible to be appointed in this
service.

All the candidates for the morning session shall report to examination hall by 10AM.
Invigilators should explain to the candidates regarding the process of answering question papers
during the time 10:00AM to 10:25AM. Similarly the candidates for the afternoon session shall report
to examination hall by 02:00PM. Between 02:00PM to 02:25PM. Invigilator should explain to the
candidates regarding the process of answering question papers.
The question-cum-answer paper will be OMR sheet in which the candidate shall have to
blacken/shade the correct answer box with blue coloured ball point pen. Sample OMR sheets will be
available in the website for candidates to download and practice.
The application format will also be available in our website www.odishaforest.in. Candidates can
down load the format and use it.
Recruitment Process:
The Candidates have to go through written test, verification of Original Certificates,
Measurement of Physical standard, Cycling Test, Walking Test, Medical Test and Viva-voce.
The other eligibility criteria, physical standard, details of written examination, physical test, viva
voce test can be ascertained from the Divisions and Range Offices.
