All-new Isuzu Mu-X drives into Sultanate
Stylish 4x4 SUV comes with better on & off-road performance, more space and advanced features

Motors International Operations Thailand Co have recently launched Isuzu Mu-X,
a versatile seven seater SUV
in the Sultanate, according to
a press release.
The launch event was attended by Toshiaki Maekawa,
Co-Managing Director, Isuzu
Motors, Thailand (IMIT),
along with Sheikh Saad Bahwan, Chairman, OTE Group,
Anil Dua, Managing Director, OTE Group and officials
from IMIT, Isuzu Dubai and
OTE Group.
The all-new Isuzu Mu-X is
a stylish 4x4 SUV, designed
to perform better both on &
off-road, with a spacious interior that can accommodate 7
passengers comfortably. True
to its offerings, its name was
derived from “Mu,” the 12th
letter in the Greek alphabet,
standing for multipurpose
utility and “X” for exemplary
and exciting.
The all-new Isuzu mu-X
strikes a commanding stance.
With suave city-style meshed
with tough off-road tones, the
Mu-X will make heads turn
for all the right reasons. Allnew Isuzu Mu-X is designed
to feel at home in any setting
and on any terrain. Effortlessly, the Mu-X can blur the
boundaries between the city
and the wilds.
Cloaked behind the sleek
exterior lines of the all-new
Isuzu Mu-X lies a smartly designed interior that creates a
wealth of space for seven to
travel safely, securely and in
comfort. Wide door arches
make access for all passengers a breeze and while exploring off-road, the strategically placed assist grips help
them to keep grounded.
In addition to the fun
there’s also a practical side
to the all-new Mu-X’s interior. There’s an abundance of
clever storage compartments
and with the second & third
row seats ability to fold down,
there’s also an overly generous cargo area sufficient to
carry a sizeable load. The
roof rails can also support

The all-new Isuzu Mu-X is
packaged with a plethora of
novel features which include
dual climate control with rear
coolers, speed sensing door
locks, three 12-volt accessory
sockets, a total of 19 storage compartments and 12
cup-holders, a lockable and
illuminated glove box, side
step boards, and tow hooks.
Easy on the eyes are the vehicle’s electroluminescent
instrument meters that have
automatic brightness adjust
integrated with the useful
Multi-Information Display
(MID) panel.
A new seat design with
‘wrap-around’ bolsters provide increased shoulder, back
and base support delivering
more comfort for occupants.
Rear seat passengers will find
class-leading legroom. The
third-row seats can easily be
accessed as the second-row
seats have a forward-tumble
60/40-split. All together, the
versatile interior of Mu-X will
provide all the occupants with
comfortable head, leg and
shoulder room needed for a
relaxing journey.
A premium audio system
with 6 speakers plus 2 roofmounted speakers and Bluetooth phone connectivity
along with audio streaming
will keep the occupants thoroughly entertained throughout the journey.
Propelling the vehicle is
a new power plant - 2.5-liter diesel engine fitted with
Common Rail Direct Injection and an intercooled
Variable Geometry System
(VGS) turbocharger, which
alters the direction of where
exhaust gases flow. This optimizes turbine response at low
engine speeds, eliminating
the delayed power delivery
known as “turbo lag,” which
is common to non-VGS engines.
Isuzu Mu-X’s engine is designed with superior knowhow that has seen over 23
million Isuzu diesel engines
sold worldwide. This innovative engine has accomplished
class leading fuel efficiency,
power, torque and environmental friendliness all in the
same time apart from being

reliable and durable with its
lifetime steel timing chain
and anti-friction melt-in
cylinder liners. It produces
136 Ps at 3,400 rpm and 320
Nm of torque from 1,800 to
2,800 rpm. Paired to the new
engine is a five-speed automatic with sequential shift
function.
All-new Mu-X has a new
suspension system with
Double Wishbones at the
front and a Five-Link with
coil springs and stabilizer
bar at the back.
All-new Isuzu Mu-X fourwheel-drive system with real-world off-road capability
can reach to that out-of-theway spot with confidence.
Mu-X is also fitted with the
rugged off-road protection
that is needed when roughing it. There’s a front steel
plate skid /splash shield as
well as steel plate guards to
protect the sump and transfer case. Add to this a tried
and tested 4x4 drivetrain
managed by an intelligent
Traction Control System
(TCS) with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), along
with generous groundclearance, approach and
departure angles.
The tough chassis provides
better balance& performance
while delivering superior stability and road holding in all
conditions.
The all-new Isuzu Mu-X
reaps the benefits of Isuzu’s
safety policy: “Safety is our
priority”. Passive safety systems include dual front airbags, child-proof door locks
that automatically engage
when the vehicle reaches
20kph, Emergency Locking
Retractor (ELR) with pretensioner and load-limiter
seatbelts in all three rows of
seats, and side impact beams
inside the doors.
A newly engineered cabin
shell constructed from high
tensile steel for increased
strength and rigidity gives
even greater safety to all
passengers.
Customers
will also have the extra assurance of Antilock Brake
System (ABS) with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist
(BA) and a Traction Control
System (TCS), which automatically prevents skidding
and loss of steering control,
to help reduce fatal accidents significantly. Added
to these are the new projector headlamps and LED
rear combination-lamps for
maximum visibility.
The all-new Isuzu Mu-X
