The 36 th Annual Session of Odisha History Congress shall be held from
31 st Jan - 1 st February 2015 at Dept. of History,Kendrapara Autonomous College,
Dist- Kendrapara, Odisha-754211, India.
Odisha History Congress is an association of general public, teachers, scholars,
students and the intelligentsia devoted to the cause of promoting research, teaching
and writing on Odisha History, Culture and Heritage.
The principal activities conducted by Odisha History Congress include







Hosting of Annual Sessions and Regional Sessions. More than fifty research
papers are presented in each annual session.
Key note address by an eminent historian.
Publication of a Research Journal.
Publication of Proceeding of the Sessions.
Presentation of Prof. Jagannath Patanaik Memorial Young Historian Award.
Delivery of Prof. K.S.Behera Memorial Lecture.
Honoring Teachers and Researchers of Odisha History.
For more than four decades Odisha History Congress has worked for promotion of
bias free and secular history of Odisha.
Prof.M.N.Das, Prof.B.C.Ray, Prof. K.S.Behera, Prof. K.M.Patra, Dr. H.K.Mahatab
and Sri R.N.Singdeo former Chief Ministers of Odisha and Sri Radhanath Rath,
former Editor of Samaj were amongst the founding members of Odisha History
Congress. Prof. Ashok Kumar Patnaik, Professor& Head, P.G.Dept., of History,
Utkal University,Vanivihar, Bhubaneswar,Odisha shall preside over the 36th Session
of Odisha History Congress.
Odisha History Congress invites research papers from members to be presented in the
36th Annual Session of OHC. The papers may relate to any one of the following areas.
Track A-
Ancient Odisha History, Culture, Archaeology& Heritage
Track B-
Medieval Odisha History, Archaeology, Culture and
Heritage
Track C-
Modern Odisha History, Culture and Heritage
Track D-
History of India, World, International Relation and all
other related themes including of allied Subjects like
Anthropology, Sociology, Politics, Literature and
Religion
The research paper must be emailed to [email protected] and
[email protected] latest by 30.11.2014. The acceptance of the paper shall
be communicated by 15.12. 2014. Hard copy of the paper must be sent by post to
Prof. S.P. Pani, General Secretary, Odisha History Congress, Director, DDCE, Utkal
University, and Bhubaneswar-751007. Each paper should follow the Odisha History
Congress style sheet available in our website www.odishahistorycongress.org. MLA/

Chicago /APA style sheet may be followed alternately. Each article must contain
an abstract within 300 – 500 words specifying the problem investigated, review
of literature, methods of investigation and major findings. Abstracts of all papers
and quality papers received by 30.11.2014 shall be published . Paper received beyond
30.11.2014 and accepted for presentation shall not be considered for publication.
Papers without Abstract shall not be considered for publication. Odisha History
Congress shall institute awards (citation only) in honour Prof. K. C. Panigrahi,
Prof. M. N. Das, Prof. N. K. Sahu and Prof. B.C. Roy for best paper in each Track.
Papers received by 30.11.14 shall only be considered.

All delegates shall be eligible to receive a copy of Proceeding and a copy of the
Journal. 50% concession is available to students on production of Identity Card.
During Annual Sessions 50% concession shall be available to all, Students may
attend the Session by becoming an Annual member without voting rights. They shall
be required to pay delegate fees of Rs. 300/-only, in addition to Annual membership
of Rs.200/-.



Research papers for the Journal :
OHC invites, articles for publication in its journal. The terms (style sheet, date schedule,
abstract, last date etc.) shall be same as that prescribed for Research papers to be presented
in the Annual Session.
Young Historian Award 2014-15 :
OHC invites, articles for award of Prof. Jagannath Patnaik Memorial Young Historian Award,
from those scholars born on or after 1st June, 1975. The terms (style sheet, date schedule,
abstract, last date etc.) shall be same as that prescribed for Research papers to be presented
in the Annual Session. Only hard copy be sent by Registered post addressed to Prof. S.P.
Pani, Director, DDCE, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar-751007. The envelope should be super
scribed "Article for OHC Young Historian Award 2014-15". It must reach us by 30.11.2014.
Election Notice:
Election for the following shall be held during the Business Session scheduled for 1st
February 2015 in Annual Session of Odisha History Congress.

Nomination format can be downloaded from www.odishahistorycongress.org . w.e.f. 15/01/
2015.
Nomination would require signature of a proposer and it needs to be seconded. The consent of
the candidate for election is also required. Nomination Papers shall be made available at
Registration Counter in the Annual Session of Odisha History Congress. Nomination shall be
received up to 1 P.M. on 31/01/2015 at the Registration Counter. Nomination papers shall be
scrutinized at 5 P.M. on 31/01/2015 in the presence of candidates. Valid nomination papers
shall be notified by 6.30 P.M. on 31/01/2015. Voting as per requirement shall be conducted
during the Business Session on 01/02/2015. An election officer shall be appointed and notified
on our website. Please consult OHC Constitution available in our website.
