My parents were Catholics and were pharmacists. Before 1959, I studied at Ciudad Estudiantil Padre Félix Valera, directed by the Canadian priests of the foreign missions of Quebec and the missionary nuns of the Immaculate Conception. After finishing my first studies, I studied at the middle and high school of Colón. I acquired my Medical Degree from the University of La Habana, Cuba in December 8, 1975. I was always anxious about my vocation but practicing as a medical doctor for 3 years as a post-graduate and 2 years in Angola were very helpful for me to see more clearly what Jesus wanted from me. The diocesan bishop, who was my spiritual director, helped me greatly to answer to this call from God. I studied at the Seminar of San Carlos in La Habana, Cuba and was ordained a priest on July 25, 1988. For 12 years I worked in Colón Parish, also for 12 years I worked in St. Juliana, 2 years in Holy Name of Jesus and now I am starting a new phase of my priestly life at the Diocesan Cathedral. I feel very encourage and have a lot of enthusiasm, I know how to give the best of myself. My daily goal is to work for Jesus in a very peaceful and happy manner, with a very profound spirit of a priestly service. I ask the Cathedral’s community to open your hearts and to have me in your prayers. I assure you that I will pursue to give you the best of my priesthood in Jesus Christ. I thank Most Reverend Gerard M. Barbarito for directing me to this new change in my priestly life and to Rev. Thomas Barrett for accepting me at St. Ignatius Loyola Cathedral. God bless you, Fr. Jose Crucet SECOND SUNDAY OF ADVENT Continuing our journey toward Bethlehem, we light two purple candles this week. The second purple candle is called the Bethlehem candle, as it prepares us to be the cradle for the Christ Child. PRAYER: Love is the binding thread of all life and all God’s works. It’s the work you can do - a touch of the hand, a friendly glance, a comforting remark, a selfless action, a constructive suggestion, a sharing of grief, going out of your way. An act of love is a prayer itself. Lord help us to be good gifts for those we live with and meet. Amen. All Saints Catholic School of Jupiter is honored to announce our school’s ranking of number 13 in the top 25 private middle schools of South Florida (as published in the Private Schools Guide of South Florida 2014). This ranking includes all of Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties.
