Christmas Jumper
Day!
We raised £205 for
Save the Children,
and looked mighty
stylish doing it!
Thanks for getting
into the spirit.
Dear Families,
I’d like to wish you all a big welcome back! I hope
you all had a wonderful Christmas break and
enjoyed the festive season as much as I did, with
lots of food and drink, family time and perhaps…
presents!
Well, what an amazing Autumn Term we had. I
hope the children are still buzzing with excitement
about the Lost Lending Library, the art exhibition,
the panto, and all those wonderful topic related
dress up days. Our mission is to continue to drive
learning through exciting experiences, and I am
really looking forward to these during the new
term ahead.

I am always looking to improve communication
between school and families. If you have a
suggestion please contact me through the
suggestion box in the main reception area.
there was a Lost Lending Library that was in need of new stories.
From far and wide, it heard about the imaginations of the children at Jubilee Primary School and so, it landed here...
in Barry's music room! There was much confusion at first, but once we knew its reasons for coming here, we
welcomed the Lost Lending Library and got writing! Well done everyone for doing such a fantastic job of being their
apprentices! Sadly, the library has now disappeared but the children’s stories are still in school and we’d love to
share them with you! On Thursday 15th January, we will hold an exhibition from 3:45 for you to come and look at
the children’s work. Please join us then! The place of the exhibition will be confirmed. Please check with your child.
Art Exhibition
We will be having another Art
Exhibition in the last week of
this half term where you will
be able to see lots of our
fantastic art work on display.
More details to follow!
Curriculum and Assessment
information session for parents
Thanks to everyone who attended this
session. We have put the
presentations and handouts on the
school website under the learning
section (see curriculum and
assessment sections).
Tie-Dye Friday
During Anti-Bullying Week last November, Jubilee
School Council raised funds for a charity that helps
to stop bullying in schools. We decided that the
whole school would unite against bullying by
creating a tie-dye rainbow. All children took part in
tie-dying workshops to produce a t-shirt in their
year group colour. On 'Tie-dye Friday' the whole
school wore their tie-dye t-shirts in assembly.
Jubilee managed to raise £125 for the AntiBullying Alliance! This money will help support
people working with children to tackle bullying and
support parents of children with learning
disabilities. School Council would like to thank
Lizzie for organising the tie-dying workshops and
Friends of Jubilee for supplying the dying materials.

A message from the
newsletter writer:
Goodbye! I am off to have a baby
girl, so do wish me good luck! I will
be back in January 2016. I’ll miss
you all but I’m sure I’ll be busy
enough with the new mini me! In
my absence, Lucy Spreckley will be

Years team.

In early December, the girls’ football team took part in the indoor 5-a-side
competition. They played four games, winning 2, drawing 2 without conceding a
single goal and finished joint winners with 8 points. Well done to Kiran, Meliz, Sanna,
Myah-Lea, Imani, Sumairaa, Zahra and Amy.
Thursday 11th December was a busy day for taking part in sports competitions for
Jubilee. We took part in Hockey, Cycle league and boys’ football league. The day
started with the Hockey team taking part in a Quick Sticks Hockey competition at City
Academy. The players played with great skill and discipline, but were knocked out of
the competition in the semi-final in a penalty shoot-out. They were so close to the
final where the winners went through to represent Hackney at the London Youth
Games in the summer. A big well done to Harvey, Kiran, Jeremiah, Sanaa, Nacime,
Matthew and Noah. S.
Next up was the Cycle league at the Forest Road Youth Hub, where the team took
part in a competition on static bikes. As we go to print we are still waiting for the
results to come through. The cycle team consisted of Mack M, Noah T, Luke W,
George, Leah, Ismael Fuentes, Esther, Alex S, Murray, Reuben, Nel and Spike.
The final event of the day was the Boys Indoor 5-a-side at Queensbridge Leisure
Centre. Each team had to play each other twice, which meant the boys played six
games. They went on to win four, but were defeated in two, scoring 10 goals and
conceding 3, finishing top of the league with 12 points. Some of the football the boys
played was amazing and had the whole centre applauding at some of the goals they
scored. The boys will be going back to play in the finals in January. Congratulations
go to Thierry, Noah. S, Jeremiah, Berkan, Ismael. FD, Matthew, Ludo and Isaiah.
Registering for the Reception
Class at Jubilee
If your child was born between 1
September 2010 and 31 August
2011, they are due to start primary
school in September 2015. You must
register your child online at
www.eadmissions.org.uk
by
the
deadline of 15th January. Make sure
to state whether or not your child is a
sibling of a child already attending
the school, and keep a receipt of your
application. Late applications made
past the deadline are not considered
with the same priority as those made
before the deadline. Families receive
their notifications of the school they
were allocated over the Easter
holiday. Contact Kate or Irene in the
main office for more information.
Congratulations to our
Nursery Officer, Leanne,
who welcomed her baby
boy, Hayden, on 2nd
January, weighing an
impressive 7lb 13! We’re
looking forward to
meeting him!
Sports News
To finish the week on the Friday we took a team of athletes to Clapton Girls School to
take part in an Indoor Athletics competition. They competed well and finished 3rd
overall with Esther winning the 6 lap parlaff. Well done to Louis, Jeremiah, Spike,
Mack, Berkan, Ryan, Imani, Nel, Amy and Esther.
This ended a very enjoyable couple of days of competitions where all of the teams
competed, played with discipline and support and showed respect to each other and
the opposition. Well done Jubilee.
Friends of Jubilee would like to thank everybody who worked on or came to the
Winter Fair. It was another record breaking event, raising over £1,700. All this
money goes towards helping with the fantastic extra-curricular work the school
does. This term alone we were able to fund a year’s horse riding sessions for SEN
Children, several class trips, Tie Dye Friday, and new wet weather and maths games
as well as helping out in other, mystical and magical ways…! None of this is possible
without the continued support of you, the parents and children of Jubilee.
Thank You.
