Followers of Christ
“The birthplace of intercessory prayer is in the heart of God. If every
church member were an active intercessor, how quickly we could
finish God’s mission on earth and Jesus could come to complete
His salvation.” Ellen G. White
Kingdom Prayer Focus // You are invited to pray for Pastor Lee and
Marji Venden. Pray that God will cover them with the protective
blood and presence of Jesus Christ; that God will use the All About
Jesus Revival Seminar to do a deep work in your life; that through
the work of the Holy Spirit many, many people will come to a more
intimate and life transforming relationship with Jesus Christ .

Sabbath Ends Today 4:45 // Next Sabbath Begins 4:54
Today // We warmly welcome Pastor Lee and Marji Venden to our
congregation from Walla Walla, WA. Pastor Venden’s All About Jesus
Revival Seminar began last evening. He will share his messages today
during Sabbath School, the Worship Service and at 2 pm. Extra sermon
outlines are available at the Resource Center. We are delighted that
Pastor Parker is baptizing Joshua and Jaden Robinson today. We look
forward to welcoming these young people into our church family.
Next Sabbath // Pastor Lee Venden will again be our guest speaker. His
worship service sermon will be All About Jesus: Homecoming. Invite
a friend or family member to join you. His presentation during Sabbath
School will be Surviving a Revival Seminar. The final presentation at
2 pm is entitled Is Jesus Enough? A one-time, special offering will be
taken at the last meeting .
All About Jesus // A light supper will be served from 5:45-6:15 pm in
the Fellowship Hall each evening to make attending the meetings more
practical. Venden moves beyond religious theory and explains how to
surrender and experience Christ’s transforming power. As we conclude
the All About Jesus series on Sabbath, January 24, and thank Pastor
Venden, join HAYA as they host an Italian themed potluck.
Hymn Sing 2015 // Please plan to come and enjoy a delightful time of
congregational hymn singing on January 31, 2015, at 3 pm in the Sanctuary.
UPCOMING YOUTH EVENTS
Parents! // Check out this great article entitled Get to Know Your Child’s
Friends by Dr. Jim Burns. You can pick up a copy at the Resource
Center or talk to Pastor Parker.
How Strong is Your Faith? // In the end times, when Christians have
become fugitives, a small group wonders how strong is their faith. While
trying to survive, hiding out in a cold, dark church, they are faced with
making the ultimate choice: their faith or their lives. Catacombs will
be performed by the HAA drama group Act in Faith on January 24 at
7 pm in the Sanctuary. A love offering will be taken.
Youth Outing // This year’s Winter Jam Christian Music Spectacular
is at the All-State Arena on Friday, January 30, at 7 pm. Artists include:
Jeremy Camp, Skillet, Francesca Battistelli, Building 429, For King
and Country, Newsong and many more. Sign up for the bus ride by
Wednesday, January 28, on the list by the Chapel or at Hinsdale SDA
Youth Group on Facebook. $10 (cash only) per person.
Youth/Earliteen Potluck // On Sabbath, January 31, in the Fellowship
Hall after church, we are asking each youth and earliteen member to
bring one dish and one vegetable/salad to share with others. We will
also be viewing the movie Grace Unplugged. Please join us for an
afternoon of fellowship. For more information, contact Pastor Parker.
Youth Football Championship Party // On Sunday, February 1, at
5 pm, come to the Maletin’s house for a great evening of food, fun, and
football. For more information and to RSVP go to Hinsdale SDA Youth
Group on Facebook or contact Pastor Parker.
Spring Series // Pastor Tim Roosenberg will present a ten-day series
entitled Islam and Christianity in Prophecy in the Hinsdale Church.
This outreach to our community is scheduled for April 24-May 3.
Begin praying asking God to place on your heart the names of those
you can invite.
747 Youth Vespers // On Friday, February 6, at 7:47 pm in the Chapel,
please come out for a great night of worship and fellowship. For more
information go to Hinsdale SDA Youth Group on Facebook.
