School meets in Sierra Vista Chapel featuring
“Finding Grace in Art with Stuart Tyner,” Halcyon
Wilson, coordinator; Chris Oberg, lesson. This week
in Journey, Peter Cress will lead our discussion of the
role of faith in miraculous healing, as revealed in The
Desire of Ages chapters 26 and 32.
This Sabbath’s offering is for ConferenceWide Evangelism.
Fellowship Luncheon. Visitors are invited to
potluck across the street in Sierra Vista Chapel
after church@study and church@noon. All are
welcome. Members are invited to bring a dish.
Sabbath Rest is until 5:19pm on January 31. Next
Sabbath’s welcome is on February 6 at 5:25pm.
Church Chat. Plan on being at our annual Church
Chat, this Saturday, at 5:00pm in the Sanctuary. It is
our formal opportunity to reflect on the previous
year of what God has done in the life of this
church, and to envision what we hope for in the
year to come. A light supper to follow.

Child Dedication. Congratulations to
Tara and Michael Bartholomew who
dedicated their daughter, Lilian Olivia
Elise Bartholomew, to the Lord with
Sam Leonor on January 24, 2015.
Blanket Club. Please consider donating any usable
yarn at the church office. We continue to give
away about 25 blankets a month, all made from
donated yarn - sometimes from transformed
scraps! Our next gathering is February 14.
Conversation with Author Richard Rice about
his new book Suffering and the Seach for Meaning,
on February 21 at 4:00pm in the Sanctuary.
La Sierra University.
“A Celebration of the Civil Rights Movement”
will be held in the Sanctuary at 4:00pm on Sabbath,
February 7. Speaking will be Terrence Roberts,
member of the Little Rock Nine, students who
desegregated Little Rock Nine Central High School;
Glora Macias Harrison and Marta Macias Brown,
sisters who started El Chicano newspaper as a form of
community activism, and music from the Civil Rights
period sung by the choir “Another Peace.”
La Sierra Academy. Pray for our students as they
attend Bible Camp at Pine Springs this weekend.
