W.O.W! Team host - ‘Cherish a Child’ Fundraiser
Crowds packed the Youth Hall for a very special event hosted by the W.O.W! Women of
Worth team. The Hall had been given a special makeover for
the Coffee Evening, Cake Sale and Promise Auction!
Everyone enjoyed coffee, tea & some tasty treats while sharing fellowship in a lovely relaxed
atmosphere. Many also appreciated the cake stall where they purchased some home-made goodies
and the Face Painting and Nail Art proved to be very popular with the children. There was much
enthusiasm from the crowd as Pastor Jonathan (Auctioneer!) invited bids for the ‘lots’ on offer! Over
30 people had made a promise to donate their time, a skill or an item including: a Harley Davison
Experience, Driving Lessons, Spring Cleaning, Painting, Music Lessons, Gel Nails and many, many,
more! Pastor Jonathan was ably assisted by the ‘in-house comedy drama team’ who helped set
the scene during the Auction. It was truly a great night of fun and laughter for all the family. Through
this event the tremendous sum of £2,600 was raised for ‘Cherish a Child’ our community
project developed to help respond to the specific needs of local children. This innovative Ministry
Outreach works alongside various Agencies to ensure that a real difference is made in the homes
where it is most needed. Once a need is identified suitable items are sourced and already in the
past 18 months over 80 children have been helped through this wonderful initiative.
A BIG thank you to those who made this all possible.
To the W.O.W! girls, the ‘set up’ team, those who looked after the sound & lighting, the
bakers, those who prepared and served supper, the face painters & nail artists,
the ‘clear up’ team and not forgetting our very own ‘Drama Team’!
Also, many thanks to everyone who came and gave donations.
“And He took the children in His arms, placed His hands on them and blessed them”.
