Welcome Recital
Come hear the GFU flute ensemble, Cherry Street, and
Sophia Tegart perform works by Ewazen, Tcherepnin,
Francaix, Dahl, and more.

Dr. Krista Jobson enjoys an active career as a soloist,
chamber musician, orchestral player, and teacher. A
frequent guest artist and master class clinician, Jobson has
performed and given master classes throughout the
United States and the world, including Germany, Japan,
France, and Mexico.
Tone/Warm-ups Session

Flute Master Class
Listen to GFU, Pacific U, and local high school flutists
play in a master class for Dr. Krista Jobson.
As a soloist, Dr. Jobson was first place winner in the
Brevard Symphony Young Artist Competition and
second prizewinner in the Florida Flute Association
Young Artist Competition. Jobson had recent concerto
performances with the Valley Symphony Orchestra,
Taffelmusik, and Musiche Doulos. She is Co-Principal
Flutist of the Valley Symphony Orchestra and Principal
Flutist of The Trade Winds Recording Ensemble for Carl
Fischer, Inc. She performed for four years as a member of
the Band of the Air Force Reserve in Warner Robins,
Georgia. Dr. Jobson served as Principal Flutist of the
Topeka Symphony Orchestra from 2009 to 2011, and has
performed with the Spoleto USA Festival Orchestra,
Spartanburg Philharmonic, and Charleston Symphony
Orchestra.

Flute Choir Session
Prior to her faculty position at the University of TexasPan American, Dr. Jobson served on the faculties of The
University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of
Music and Dance, Missouri Southern State University,
and Kansas City Kansas Community College. Dr. Jobson
serves as a faculty member of Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp,
where she has performed in solo recital, as flutist with the
faculty woodwind quintet, and as Principal Flute of the
faculty orchestra.
Works by Bach, Dutilleux, Jolivet, Chen, Reich, and Ran.
Group session: bring your flute! Flute choir reading
session. All levels are welcome! Alto flute and Bass flutes
available.

Dr. Sophia Tegart is a popular soloist and has
performed throughout the United States and Europe.
She has performed concertos with the Spokane
Symphony, the Washington-Idaho Symphony, the
UMKC Conservatory Orchestra, and the Gonzaga
Symphony Orchestra. Recently, she was piccolo soloist
with the Kansas City Civic Orchestra. Competitive
internationally, Sophia was a finalist in the 2011 Mu Phi
Epsilon International Competition, was quarter-finalist
in the 2008 National Flute Association Young Artist
Competition, and won Second Place in the 2003 MTNA
Collegiate Artist Woodwind Competition.
Sophia has held orchestral positions in the WashingtonIdaho Symphony, the Walla Walla Symphony, the
Oregon Mozart Players, and most recently the Des
Moines Metro Opera. She has been guest principal
flutist in the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra and
Kansas City Civic Opera, and has performed as
substitute flutist with the Kansas City Symphony,
Spokane Symphony, and the Northwest Bach Festival.
Sophia has served on the faculties at the University of
Idaho, Concordia University, Pacific University, and
George Fox University where she currently teaches flute,
