Today, our Senior Minister Rev Micky Munroe is preaching and he begins a new series of messages - The Adventure of Faith - on the Old Testament book of Joshua and communion will follow at the end of each service - there are gluten free wafers available on the plates. Please stay for a cup of tea or coffee at the end. 2015 - NEW BEGINNINGS! There are a number of exciting mission and ministry opportunities for GBC at the beginning of the year. Please make a note of dates. Week of Prayer at GBC ~ w/c 4th January 2015 Today is the beginning of a week dedicated to prayer. Together we seek God’s will and blessing for the year ahead. More information is given on the reverse of the news sheet or speak to Kenny Brown or Micky. CAP Job Club @ GBC will be launched on the morning of Tuesday 20th January. This is an exciting new opportunity for GBC to partner with Christians Against Poverty in serving our community and making a real and lasting difference in the lives of those seeking employment. Men’s Prayer Breakfast dates for 2015 31st Jan; 28th Feb, 28th March, 25th Apr, 30th May, 27th June, 26th Sept, 31st Oct, 28th Nov. These dates are all Saturdays. We meet at 8 for 8.15am. As always, no need to book, just turn up! Thank you for supporting the Giant Christmas card and Christmas Day offering. The Christmas Day offering amounted to £400, which will be split between BMS World Mission & YBA Home Mission and an additional £118.25 was sent to Home Mission from the Giant Christmas card. Thanks to all who gave so generously. Deacon’s elections - nomination forms are in the foyer for our forthcoming deacon elections, which will be held at the AGM on Wednesday 4th Feb, 8pm. There are three vacancies and an existing deacon who is up for election - Paul Cayton is happy to stand again. Nominations can be made by completing a nomination form and returning it to Joy Liles by Sunday, 18th January. If you are thinking of standing, it would be good for you to speak to Micky or Ann, as well as talking to existing deacons to find out a bit more about what it entails. Deacons Andy Thomson and David Skeet are standing down and we are grateful to God for their service to the kingdom and church. Please note there is a waiting list so please speak to Carolyn Campbell for more info The Connection restarts next Saturday, 10th January from 10.15~11.30am. The New Year can be a lonely time for some so why not invite someone along for great refreshments, homemade cakes and a warm welcome.
