Clara, a teenager, suffers a day full of embarrassing episodes; first she forgets
her piano lessons on her final day, add to that, her father being over protective
by default, creates a lot of unintended moments. Clara though turns out to be
a fighter and takes it all in her stride.
This silent film unfolds a lyrical tragedy of a woman who is brutally raped and a
mute dwarf who is also sexually endangered in the social frame of manliness.
Their quest for love and vengeance begins in a forlorn island. In this battle for
survival of human instincts and sanity, the film's silent, dark, and lyrical
approach along with the characters puts forward the feeling of helplessness, a
feeling which plagues us in this time. This film is not an account of crime and
punishment but a more profound tale of human infirmity and the core of
obscurity.

When the newly out-of-love Shulan met Yangshu, a painting teacher, the two
went through an excruciating love story. Years later, when the two
independent souls re-encounter each other in the cafe owned by Yangshu,
they recall the laughter and tears of the past, now that they are both in a
peaceful state of mind. The present entangles with the past as the two, in a
seemingly calm conversation, gradually reveal the real reason behind their
break up. Innocence and regret of the past salvaged by the words of today, the
past adds to the helplessness and insensibility of today.

doing what she is, as she too has the same aspirations. They both picture

The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has encouraged amateur short film makers to
narrate the essence of Maharashtra with a chance to showcase their talent at the Pune International Film
Festival (PIFF).
The short films will be judged on their cinematic, thematic and aesthetic excellence showcasing the natural
heritage, traditional heritage and the culture of Maharashtra in Marathi, Hindi and English.
Every destination in Maharashtra has a scenic importance. Its rich biodiversity has a variety of terrains, from
beaches to hills, from plateaus and jungles to water bodies, which can be best described through audiovisuals. Along with geological formations, the state has 80% of the caves in India and the maximum number
of forts in the plains, hills and islands. The culture, food, festivals and traditions of Maharashtra is worth
experiencing and showcasing in these films.
The initiative of MTDC has plotted the state on the global tourism map through the medium of cinema at the
Pune International Film Festival. The best films will be showcased to promote tourism in the state. Srimati
Valsa Nair- Singh, Tourism Secretary GoM, Managing Director, MTDC, said, "Visuals speak more than a
thousand words. With technological advancement mobile phones have become a very handy tool to take
pictures, videos and to browse information. These can also be used for submitting the video films".
MTDC wishes all the filmmakers the very best for the MTDC short film competition.

Director: Avdhoot Navale
The Enigma of Lonar is a visual discovery tour of Lonar, its awe inspiring
landscapes, its locales, as well as the sense of mystery and secretiveness that
always seems to shroud it. Lonar has a silence about it, that is cosmic. Often,
it gives an impression of being in ‘no man’s land’, this could also be because
very few tourists or travelers visit it.
